Morality Question.

Without going into irrelevant details, I've been a pretty small minded petty bitch at work lately. One of my co-workers called me out on it and I got really mad because a good portion of what he said was true.

I spent the better part of an hour being mad. After I got off work I took a nap and talked/bitched to some friends for another hour. Then I went for a walk around the neighborhood to self-reflect more or less a better person for being told about myself.

I was on my way to the Family Dollar to get some soda and chips, and a moderately scary looking black man with a tear drop tattoo got off the bus at the corner where I was waiting to cross.

He said hello, and we exchanged pleasantries. He said he was looking for a friend and inquired if I wanted anything on the side. At first I said no, and then he asked if I didn't like black guys. I sort of shrugged in a non-committal way. After informing me of his work release status, he asked for my phone number, So I put down my work number and wrote down the name of the person who told me off. razz

How should have I handled this? Did I do the right thing? Should I do it more often?
