So I just realized there is no thread talking about jubeat. What are your guys opinions on the game...>I think it looks fun even though I will probably not get a chance to play one unless I go to Japan .

Re: jubeat
It's this type of otherworldly style that actually attracted me to the Bemani series. I don't see a US arcade getting it though so I don't know if any of us will be able to play aside from importing a machine.

I can't decide if the panels are touch-sensitive or clicky buttons. I've already heard the game isn't keysounded, but the panels certainly seem to make some kind of sound when they're hit. Is that a sound effect or a mechanical button click?

Re: jubeat
I believe that is a mechanical click of some sort, I don't see how omrons could be placed around it, or anything, maybe it is the sound of hollow plastic being hit by fingers...I am not 100% sure but from all the stuff I have seen and read leads me to believe it is, but then again, I may be totally wrong.Ho wrote:Is that a sound effect or a mechanical button click?
Funny thing is, according to a songlist that Imuyumi found, Scat Man by Scatman John is a song on it.

Re: jubeat
Well, you may very well get your chance as they are conducting an arcade test in September. However, there is one small thing....
It's been renamed cause Konami of America and/or Betson are afraid of angering the Jews!

Re: jubeat
Color me surprised...though not as surprised as I'll be if they actually release it after the test.
As for the name change, I am completely indifferent. It's not like it's not without precedent:
Dance Dance Revolution / Dancing Stage
beatmania / hip hop mania
Dance Maniax / Dance Freaks
Drummania / Percussion Freaks
KeyboardMania / Keyboard Heaven
etc....
And, in fact, it's really just changing the spelling to produce the same pronunciation with our phonetics, so it's less of a name change than any of the examples I gave above.
