August 23rd: NX2-Scape 2 / 2D-X-Scape: The Final
NX2-Scape 2
Date: August 23, 2008
It will start immediately at 12:30PM, please come in and register before that and warm up before hand as well.
Location:Great X Scape Arcade
College Mall
2990 E. 3rd St.
Bloomington, IN
Mix: NX2
Cost: $5
Tech Division:
- Single Elimination Doubles
- Each player will have their name thrown into a hat. We will draw names, the order they are drawn will determine the order that they play.
- The song list is divided into tiers based upon their difficulty rating, to determine how many songs we play in each tier, we divide the amount of people entered into the event by 4 and distribute the remainder into the lower tiers. So say if 16 show up, each tier would have 4, but since we are eliminating 2 per song, that would be 2 songs in each tier. If we have a odd number of people sign up and there is say 3 or 5 per tier, we will eliminate 1 person the first song and then eliminate 2 on the proceeding song(s).
- To determine what song will be picked, we will once again randomly draw a name from the bag, and that person will pick a song from the current tier that we are in. Even if they have been eliminated from the tournament they can still pick the next song to be played. The names drawn will stay out during that tier, but will go back in when we move to the next tier.
- The lowest 2 scores will be eliminated per song
- Any Mods other than anything that alters judgement are allowed; you will be the only one up there, if you want to shoot yourself in the foot by adding mods you can’t do, be my guest .
- The Finals will be a best 3 out of 5 round. During the sign up phase of the tournament, I will have people who are present for the tournament, write down a song from either tier 4 or finals song list, and throw that in a separate bag and we will draw out of that bag the song to be played for the final, there will be no repeats of songs allowed, so no Dignity 3 times in a row as much fun as that would be to watch.
- The use of Bar will be allowed for the entire tournament
- The entry money will be divided among the top 3. 50%/30%/20%

Once again.. falls on the worst possible time during the summer for me. I had basically two obligations this summer that no matter what i couldnt miss, Summer orientation, and my piano placement exam. So if this were like even the week before, I could make, but looks like I'll miss out coming to indy this summer. Maybe merk can win now ^.~. Besides once again theres no DDR tournament, which is basically what should be the basic tournament, and the other two should be sides. well good maybe next time.
Re: August 23rd: NX2-Scape 2 / 2D-X-Scape: The Final
I will probably actually come out and participate in the Beatmania portion of this, just since I'd like to get one last time to play on the machine.

Official IIDX rules are in progress.
Expect a substantially similar ruleset to last time. Mulligans are out this time: they worked fine, but I don't think they had an appreciable impact on the final result and they take a fair amount of time due to having to bail out and start the song again. Double play is also questionable for the same reasons (I'm timing how long all the menus take to see if it can be reasonably included or not). In this time is a one-handed option to offset the lack of double.
I'm also going to do Random Gold, instead of Random All, for the first round 3 songs.

A normality test:

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Top 3 people get paid on a Nightmare tournament that may not cap 6 people?

Re: August 23rd: NX2-Scape 2 / 2D-X-Scape: The Final
Since when did the hard mode and lower crazy players start playing 14s+ on Nightmare?
In addition why isn't Chimera on the Finals songlist?
In second addition why isn't Tell Me on the songlist?

Yea, we need a Pop'N tournament to happen at some point.

There is obviously plenty of ppl with Pop'N Music to bring their own equipment for this to happen. Shoot, I'll bring 15AC and a box if it matters.

Re: August 23rd: NX2-Scape 2 / 2D-X-Scape: The Final
Some day maybe, maybe when we get SN2 we will have a pop n' tourney along with SN2 tourney, 2 tourneys (maybe 3 of 3rd Strike) in one day is enough, also being a Saturday which is our busiest day, having more tournaments will just get in the way of business, since we don't take any money from tournaments
Re: August 23rd: NX2-Scape 2 / 2D-X-Scape: The Final
Can you at least do the better of the two major fighters and do MVC2 instead of SF3S?
