I have SBC DSL its not bad, i had the problem that potter describes for awhile but i just had a bad phone line from the liveingroom to my bed room so i went to radio shack bought 20ft of new cable and ran it to my room havent had any problems since then.

Like Ive said Ive tried everything, ran a dedicated cat5e line right from the tni, putting a filter in the tni, everything at my end has been ruled out, and top tier techs cant figure out whats going on either. its driving me insane

Back when I had Verizon's DSL (not FiOS), my internet would cut out spontaneously every hour or so (but especially at times of high bandwidth, like multiple downloads). Then we changed our router for the EXACT SAME MODEL (but one that was made in US, not in China--this was the solution to the problem, so said many websites) and it worked.

Most likely it's faulty and/or old wiring in your house. When we first got our DSL connection in our apartment here, it was cutting in and out like crazy. After going through some tech support, SBC sent someone out to look at our lines. As it turned out, the wiring in out apartment was just old (built in the 70's), and the phone lines couldn't quite handle the load of both the DSL and the phone connections. He fixed it by putting a splitter in at the main hub for our unit. So now the phone line in my room is dedicated for the DSL connection only, while the rest of the house is phone line only.

So, yeah, if you're having trouble with your connection and it's not a problem with either your equipment or the DSL company's, it's probably a problem with the wiring.

ran a dedicated line to the modem from the tni, bypassing every single inch of our house wiring. its screwed onto the same terminals the incoming telco lines are.

also said Ive installed a filter in the tni, exactly the same thing as the splitter he put in. the dsl signal doesnt even touch our house lines.

I mean maybe there could be an obvious problem that 3 different lineman and a top tier tech have missed, pls, im all ears
