Knee problems have run in my family, mainly because of how tall my father and I are. He's around 7 foot, I'm going to grow to around 6-6, but we know knee problems like nobody else.

Of course, there is an imminent chance of injury here, but I'd slowly regain my way up the ladder of DDR/PIU, so to speak. You started slow, and that's alright, but keep going up 1-step at a time, so that the muscles in your knee grow to such use. That way, it's progressive. The odds of a tear/spasm is less likely.

Also, be sure to stretch before/after.
