MySpace is how you get a hold of me. I check my email like, weekly to sift out the spam and chek my finances. I don't know why I have a cell phone.

Kinda. None of our really good shit is up there yet, though.
That's mostly older stuff.
But, at least we're not being stereotypical and whining and
cutting ourselves while listening to AFI and Hawthorn Hights.

Speaking of myspace, does anyone else here have problems with it from a technical standpoint? Seems like everytime I try to log on to update our page, there's some sort of error, or they're updating servers, etc. I think I've only gotten onto it without a hassle a few times, and I check the damn thing at least a couple times a week.

If you think the sound of your band is any less mainstream and sterotypical... then you're sadly mistaken. Watch MTV2 sometime when you're bored.

I wouldn't expect anyone who doesn't like the genre to begin with to have any insight about what we play.
If you're refering to the metal scene, we're certainly not Metalcore, which is what's big now on that end of the spectrum. The song Ragnarok is melodic death metal, a popular genre for many metal fans, but nothing like metalcore, which is the mainstream at the moment.

Most bands have loved-and-lost type songs, sad songs, or what antagonistic people refer to as 'emo' as a lump term these days. We're no exception, but you won't find that to be our entire album, nor are we trying to sound hardcore and angst driven. We touch each spectrum from time to time, but you won't find an entire album of either from us.

What we actually play is quite different than what we have on the site. Other than Ragnarok, all those songs were recorded when we first got together, towards the begining of this year. We haven't had full access to a studio in some time, so our more complicated works haven't been recorded. The songs up are simple, uncomplicated, typically recorded in weekend sessions. We usually play melodic music, switching off between acoustic and electric guitars frequently during songs, and even incorporate tribal and folk aspects. We have a couple of traditional drums, a dulcimer, various flutes and keyboards. Our singer had the studio set up before, but we've been in the process of moving it and getting some newer equipment, so we haven't recorded together in ages.

We're actually changing our name, and putting up a new site soon. We've got enough music in the works for a full album, and we've been talking about producing our own EP soon.

But to top off the whole mainstream bit, we don't really care what genre we are. We play anything from black metal to blues and acoustic folk music. Hell, we've even talked about covering some old Doors and Blue Oyster Cult songs. Ultimately, the music is what matters, not what bullshit scene you're trying to fit into, or how many 16 year old kids wearing too much eyeliner are going to download your tracks to their iPod.

I could rant about the music industry for hours, but it's pretty pointless. We've gone over well with like-minded people so far. And besides, you're probably just trying to get a rise out of me anyway.
If you don't like our music, that's fine. Listen to what you like, we're not trying to please everyone. The guys at the record labels hire bands to do that as it is.
