This is a thread that was derailed by bringing in a relationship that was no ones business but Kelsie's and Coty's to start with, but originally started with an IM from Casey to Kelsie, and she wanted to talk about cocky players, then it turned into a completely opinionated conversation about true love, then BeastieBoys4Life and the Gatchoon stepped in and added some pretty funny conversation with each other (which lightened the mood in this topic). Now it's more of a lively happy thread. And this thread should be renamed for everytime it's derailed.

On a more threadly note, there isn't much to converse with about Cocky Players. They exist. That's about it.

Besides, we all know cocky players talk all that crap because they're......compensatiping for something.

As for me, People say I'm good, but I don't really care. DDR is a social game(<----Key word) to me, not a "OMG my penis is so small/life sucks so bad, so I'll ruin everyone's fun" game.

Casey got banned for making comments in the Megaplay Tournament forums. And about 2 weeks ago I think.

The X, you are one of the better attituded players, then. I play for fun, not competition, unless I'm playing in a tournament, then I get competitive, but I know when to admit I suck. Like now, I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, bad compared to people like Casey, ***Willis***, and others of the best players.

P.S. (cont. from Willis's post): I support love, not lust relationships, no matter the age difference. Age doesn't matter as long as the maturity level is close, and they are in their teens, so they can make sure of the maturity. Kelsie and Coty's relationship seems to be in good position and no one has their place to argue with it unless they really care and there was a problem.

My take on the 'love' issue is that no one wants to see a young woman (or man) be taken advatage of by their older partener. Topics like teen pregnancy, abortion, and rape mearly skirt around the perimeter of this debate. I don't know either of the two in question, but I do think it would be a shame to see a younger and likely less emotionally developed girl taken advantage of by an older guy.

Let's hope this isn't the case.

Fuck, that never stopped me. Of course, I'm from Canada. 14 is the age of consent. Either way, let them be as long as it's genuine.

As for Casey... Don't mind Casey, this Casey has known the other Casey for a good while. Casey and Casey have had a quarrel over everything from cars to a 5th mix final at a New Years Tourney. Just let things cool off, if Casey doesn't want to be cool, I'm sure Casey does. Not everyone gets along with everyone in the scene and that's cool, just keep it peaceful, for Casey's sake.

Ya know my post was defensive in nature, but hey laugh away. Plenty of other girls in your position have had their lives ruined by simple mistakes at younger ages. I hope that in reality, which isn't on a message board, you aren't quite so niave. The common teen 'invincible-mentality' of bad things only happening to other people could land you in a world of misery.

OK, look. Enough ominous "I-know-better-than-you" warnings about the rape angle. Yes, life is dangerous. Everyone has to make their own judgments about who they can trust, and their own call on how much they can trust those judgments. How can you imagine that you have any idea what danger Mamimi is or isn't in given that you (a) know neither of these people well, and (b) have no idea what they might be doing together?

I'm not a teenager, nor do I believe myself invincible. I'm careful about who I wind up alone with, I wear non-revealing clothes and varying levels of ugly depending on how confident I feel, but at the end of the day I go walking and running places, I allow my friends to visit me in my home, I don't completely withdraw from human society. In the past, I have even (gasp!) dated (which was probably a mistake for other reasons, but I won't go there). This despite all past threats and close calls. Why don't you pass judgment on me instead, since you now know a heck of a lot more about my lifestyle and risky behavior than you do about Mamimi's?

Women can make their own decisions about the risks associated with various parts of their lives. I don't mean to trivialize rape. Far from it; the threat of rape (probably) has repercussions for every woman alive. However, it's incredibly frustrating to me to see the problem of possible rape used as a catch-all justification for mocking a woman's decisions! This is just as rational as me saying to you, "You idiot, you can't come to the tournament Saturday, you might get in a car accident on the way!"
