Teh Single Life

Post by DjKARL »

Sup to all my Peeps out there,

Well...Dana left me for some other guy about 3 months back, and I personally haven't felt good nor bad. I guess I was just too busy with training to really notice, but...now that I'm back in Kansas...I've been thinking...what are the thoughts of the average single DDR player? Guys and girls are both welcome to reply.

In other news: I might not be going to Iraq this December! Curently, we don't know if or when we're gonna be there, so there's still some hope (unless they all know and want to be jerks to us all!)

i have had a few girlfriends
i've had a few long term relationships
i was a homewreaker once

i dunno...i prefer the bars/casual sex approach...i got enough issues to deal with myself and do much better without someone clinging onto me or being overly emotional/dramatic over crap that doesn't matter. i also can't stand how i have stalkers and old flames trying to get me to get busy for a night of fun. much happier with my current lifestyle over the past.

Well, my girlfriend broke up with me yesterday, actually.

Of course it sucks, but, on a more ddr-related level... it totally destroyed my abilities yesterday. It took me like... 3 sets just to flag a song that I usually do every other time (Mr. T, been trying to AAA it.. damn beginning, with no music an whatnot.) And like... I did horrible. One time I even got 18, good, and 3 misses.

Being single does suck, because, if it is that big of an issue (as is with any issue) it can affect your abilities. Which sucks.

I'm not gonna lie....

Teh single life SUCKS! It sucks worse than anything that has ever sucked before. One minute, you're on top of the world, then, it all comes crashing down with 2 simple words...

"It's over."

I know this pain myself, and if I could turn back time, I never would've gone through what I did, because it tore my up inside. I dunno. I've pretty much givin up on the whole dating thing. It's great when you have it, but it can change people in the worst ways.
This post is brought to you by BET...Because it's never too late to desecrate an ethnicity.

Meanwhile, I rather enjoy the freedom of singularity. Granted, I do wish for love at times, but most of my experience with relationships (MOST, there are exceptions here) have not been particularly pleasant.

Yay for independence!!!

Those who cannot live alone are weak, needing someone to be by you at every moment is very immature. I see this all the time with girls (or guys) that have a boyfriend and it's "the greatest thing ever to happen to them" and then they break up and they cry, and then they find another guy who is "the greatest thing ever to happen to them" rinse and repeat.

Sometimes you just need some time to find out who you are instead of who someone else is. I had a relationship in early high school for a bit, but then I broke it off (partially because my gf went clinically insane (no joke she's in an institution)) but I didn't get in another relationship until last summer.

But you know what, the relationship is way much better because it's structured, there is alot of talking, and there is trust. We are both very independant people and if we hadn't gotten together, we would've both been successful anyways, but it's the relationships that are clingy and people that cling on to eachother is what causes problems. Not to mention the relationships nowadays which are just childish and not thought out. Seriously guys, keep it in your pants. and girls, wait for a guy that actually is something you've always wanted, and more.

When you find that one person you will know, and you won't just be saying that "it's the real deal" and not believe it. So many relationships are just for the sake of being in a relationship... two words: stop it.

i'd have to side with greentea on this argument...love is just a chemical reaction followed by withdrawl...people just need to learn some self control

I figure relationships go one of two ways.
1. You get married.
2. You break up.
If a relationship takes the low-road, then it just means you aren't with the person that would be an ideal life partner. It isn't the end of time should a couple break up, especially given how young most of us are. Even the older people on IndyDDR aren't that old.

I just hope this doesn't turn into a, "Girls only like *ssholes and not nice guys like me!" thread.

OMG it's so true! girls only like assholes... I mean I'm a nice guy, and they never fall for me! I think I'm going to go listen to linkin park and cut down the highway.
Ok not really, they do fall for nice guys :D (happened to me :D) nice girls fall for nice guys that is... if a girl is not looking for a nice guy, it really says something about her personality.

And I can't agree with this quoted post more, there really are two outcomes to a premarriage relationship, and those are unfortunately the only two. I think if you see it start moving towards the low road, you should get out.... fast... or just duck....

It's a double edged sword, I suppose. Yeah, I'm single now, and it gives me more time to myself, and more time to work on whatever the hell I want.
On the flipside, it also makes me think of other opportunities, which lead to not being single....and well, that creates drama, and I don't have time for it all.
It makes for good inspiration, though.
