Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children
HOLY CRAP.
This movie was awesome.
It could've been better, but it would've had to have been a lot longer, which I don't think Square really wanted to make it much longer.....oh well though, great job Square!

lol I was going to make this thread around 2:00 because I just saw it today and I thought to myself... no... this isn't out in america yet... I should wait. Long story short, I signed on and thought that I posted it anyways and I didn't remember what I posted in it.
ANYWAYS...
Yes, it was an amazing movie, I could not believe the graphics in it. The length was a little short... but seeing all the gang fight together was just awesome
. I also couldn't believe they even had cait sith, I thought they wouldn't even attempt to put him in, but they did a good job of it.
The only real downfall I thought was the voice of red XIII was not very fitting. I don't think they ever mentioned who Yuffie, Barret, Aeris, or red XIII were (for those who didn't play FF7 it might've been confusing). The names Yuffie and Barret were used, but never in direct relation to the character. There was also a short flashback with Zack in it...
I guess I would think that someone who hadn't played FFVII would be confused. But those who have, will love it. I personally loved the music in it. They did such an amazing song with the sephiroth song.. almost a rock opera type feel except not... Also I think the credits was one of the best parts musicwise. And that stuff at the very end? where cloud was riding the bike. Was the environment CG? because I have a hard time believing that a computer made that scene, it looks indistinguishable from reality. Anyways, that's my take on it
I'm glad someone else started this thread because I really wanted to talk about it.

The action was great, how much of the last 20-30 or so minutes of the movie was almost all action? The fight in the city and the big motorcycle chase, and the stuff at the end that I won't spoil. I do wish they had more with the other characters though. It's pretty much all Cloud, with some Tifa and a little Vincent mixed in.(as far as real dialogue)
I know what you mean >_> Everytime I'm about to say 'Oh that must be CG' there's some part that's just so perfect it's hard to think it isn't real footage in the credits.Green Tea wrote:Was the environment CG?

But yeah, the song playing with the seph fight was One Winged Angel..it played during the game too...
Yes, i think the riding in the end was environment cg, cause it did look a little too real.
And i thought Nanaki's voice fit perfectly, cause remember in the game he was 45 in his species' age, but that equalled out to about 15 in human years, so him sounding like a youngin' made perfect sense to me.
I AM glad they gave Vincent a bigger part than most of the other characters though...but my best guess is because he was/is almost everybody's favorite character, and if they cut him out too much, people would've been pissed, plus he's a badass.

True, Vincent's getting his own game here eventually too.CgSquall wrote:I AM glad they gave Vincent a bigger part than most of the other characters though...but my best guess is because he was/is almost everybody's favorite character, and if they cut him out too much, people would've been pissed, plus he's a badass.

i watched it last week and i thought it was retarded.
YES the graphics were amazing...past that, it was a Final Fantasy 7 DBZ-esque jerkoff fest strictly for the animu fans and cosplayers.
The script was a joke, the action was great but the "shitty cameraman" made me motion sick.
It seemed like they were squeezing an elephant into a cd case...way too much content for such a small package

I just finished watching it... i think it's a LOT better than The Spirits Within, but there was a lot of fan-service going on...
Graphically, it's amazing, sure. I expect nothing but the best from square.
I did like some of the humor. Loz's ringtone... (that was supposed to be humor... right?)
But i knew who the guy in the wheelchair was a year ago... so no suprise there.
Also.. the end battle... man... the ultimate fanservice.
i'd give it 3 out of 5 stars.
