Case of budlight - 15$

Trip to the bar - 20$

Party at home afterwards - 30$

Waking up to remember that you were so drunk the night before that you actually thought that the dishwasher was the toilet - Priceless. ^^

1. I'm not a minor
2. I'm underage, but according to indiana law it's legal to drink underage if the alcohol is purchased by your parents and they give you permission.

Next question?

Are you stupid? It's not legal!

Your parents could be in huge trouble for doing that!

The State of Indiana wrote: Alcohol Laws
The Excise Police would like you to know...

1. Persons thought to be less than 26 years of age should be asked to produce reliable proof of age. Suggested items of identification are picture ID's, including but not limited to, a driver's license, state-issued ID card, US Government identification. REMEMBER: If you still question the age of the person you should refuse to serve them.

2. Monday - Saturday, the legal hours for the dispensing of alcoholic beverages are 7:00AM to 3:00AM (IC 7.1-3-1-14). Sunday sales begin at 10:00 AM and end at 12:30AM.
Retailer permittees may allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages for a period of thirty minutes after the legal dispensing hours only if the alcoholic beverages to be consumed were purchased and received by the consumer before the applicable times (see above hours) to stop the dispensing of alcoholic beverages. After this thirty minute period, all containers that have previously had alcoholic beverages in them must be cleared from the tables, counters, bars, etc. (905 IAC 1-10-1)

3. It is unlawful to dispense alcoholic beverages on Christmas Day. It is also unlawful to dispense alcoholic beverages for "carry-out" on New Years Day. Furthermore, it is unlawful to dispense alcoholic beverages on Primary, General Election, or Special Election Days within the precincts where the special election is being conducted while the polls are open (see attached rule). (IC 7.1-5-10-1)

4. Alcoholic beverage vs. non-alcoholic beverage: These beverages, e.g. Cutter's, Sharp's, etc., are not regulated as an alcoholic beverage in Indiana They are not classified as alcoholic beverages by Indiana law. The term alcoholic beverage means a liquid or solid that:

* 1) Is, or contains, one-half percent (0.5%) or more alcohol by volume
* 2) Is fit for human consumption
* 3) Is reasonably likely, or intended, to be used as a beverage. (IC 7.1-1-3-5)

5. It is a criminal offense to sell or furnish alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated person. In addition, the provider may experience cival liabilities if death or injury, even to a third party, occurs as a result of the act. (IC 7.1-5-10-15)

6. Permit premises where alcoholic beverages are consumed by the "drink" are required to have food service available, at all times, for at least 25 persons. Minimum food service required consists of hot soups, hot sandwiches, coffee, milk, and soft drinks (see attached rule). (IC 7.1-3-20-9 & 905 IAC 1-20-1)

7. An applicant for an employee permit (bartender/waitress/clerk, etc.) may "work on" the receipt (receipt must contain the name of the actual applicant) of a cashier's check or money order made payable to the Indiana ATC. An applicant may "work on" this receipt for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of issuance of the cashier's check or money order. The actual application and payment must be forwarded to the Indiana ATC before the receipt may be "worked on." (IC 7.1-3-18-9(c))

8. Those persons under 21 years old may be employed at a permit premise provided they do not handle, serve, or sell alcoholic beverages. (IC 7.1-5-7-13) These same individuals can be employed in a drug or grocery store and can "ringup" the sale of alcoholic beverages in the course of their employment if there is at least one other employee on the licensed premise who is twenty-one (21) years of age or older, and responsible for supervising the minor. (905 IAC 1-15.3-1)

9. It is unlawful for a permittee to discriminate between purchasers by granting a price discount, allowance, or service charge (a cover charge is not included in this) which is not available to all. For example, "drinks half-price to females", or "prices reduced between 5:00PM and 7:00PM." (IC 7.1-5-5-7 & IC 7.1-5-10-20)

10. Minors (those under 21 years of age) need to know that, in accordance with Indiana Code 7.1-5-7-7, it is illegal to knowingly:

1) Possess alcohol
2) Consume alcohol
3) Transport alcohol on a public highway when not accompanied by at least one of his/her parents or guardians.

Note: This list contains only a few of the laws and regulations that a server or permittee should be familiar with before serving alcoholic beverages. It is not intended as a substitute for a server training program given by an Excise Police Officer. When in doubt, about any law, check it out beforehand so problems may be avoided.
Please take special notice of section 10, where it clearly states that you can not possess or consume alcohol.

If your parents buy you alcohol for you to drink... guess who gets in trouble?

Your parents!

Communion wine is part of religious practice, and it's not given out in amounts that would cause you to get drunk..
However, allowing parents to give their children alcohol has a lot more factors to keep in mind. For one, there's not telling how much alcohol any parent is going to give their children, or how responsible they'd be in watching out for said child if they were to become intoxicated. Therefore, the law would not allow such a thing at all. Formally, anyway.
However, as with a lot of laws, you have to keep enforcement in mind. Are cops going around looking for this stuff? No, not likely. This is one of those technicality laws, something they can fall back on in court if something DID go wrong, or there was a case going against the parents in question for another reason.

Besides, technically, I believe the law says that in indiana, if you have an undersage girl in your car without socks on, it's statiatory rape. Obviously, that's absurd...but I did read that on a list of laws for this state.

not just girls :P if you have an underage guy as well..

Along with a bunch of other completely retarded state laws:
you also can't buy cars on sunday
IC 35-46-6-2 states that you can't sniff glue
Oral sex is also illegal in indiana
Check forgery can be punished with a public flogging of 100 stripes.
Men cannot stand in a bar (they must be sitting)
You cannot catch a fish with your bare hands.
And you aren't allowed to back into a parking spot by law because it prevents police officers from seeing the license plate.
