Why don't you actually try out the story line instead of trying to grind? Its not a normal MMO, so if thats all you do lik eyou did in WoW, you're going to get bored.

It gets quite difficult at and after ascension. Try going to the Underworld and going all the way through that, its fuckin insane.

Missions are drawn out and linear, and it sucks when one person gets disconnected or something and you have to start the whole thing over. The storyline isn't HORRIBLE, but it's just like "Kill those Charr. Let's move to the next frontline and protect our guys from the Charr! Oh look, Charr, kill them!" Plus I like unique stuff too, everyone has the same armor, and it's all so easy to get. I like stuff that you have to work for.

And about liking that there are other people in the world, it just gives the game a sense of vastness, especially when you see people running throughout the wilderness and stuff. I dunno, just my style. I played Ultima Online as my first MMO back in 99, and I liked that exploration feeling and still do. Every thing is simplified in GW, you're told exactly where to go on the map. And wtf is with the fact that I can't choose who I go into the arena with in Ascalon and Yak's Bend and stuff? I know you can in later areas or whatever, I assume anyways, but I just thought that was kinda lame.

Ok, obviously you played the game to post searing and stopped. GJ, you are 1/50th through the game. And sure, everything is the same, if you want to be lame. I have elitist Elemental armor, that I've only seen 2 other people with, unlike the masses in WoW trying to collect the most 'leet' stuff. Shoot, some of the armor maybe .00000001% of the people have it because the drops are so rare to craft them.

Also, the PVP is all based off of guild teamwork, so you do choose who you play with and against, but in early levels you basically just learn to scrimmage. You need to be ascended or in a guild to start getting fame and ranks.

I figured you'd pay more attention to details in a game :o

There is a lot of PVP in arena's and the like, but there's A LOT of people who actually play the game and do missions. That's why when you leave towns/outposts, you don't encounter any other PC's. Theres too many of them.

And Riot, you're at the same point in the game I'm at. Post searing gets pretty bland, but the trick is to find some people you like traveling with, and go with it. Do the larger co-op missions, and not only will you get lots of XP, eventually you'll get out of Ascalon, and on to bigger, better things.
Also, the further into the game you go, the more customized and unique equipment you're going to find. Where you are, yeah...there's not much to choose from yet.

I'm level 17....

It just feels like the same ol' stuff every time. There's really not that much good stuff to look forward to, so getting money is kind of pointless. Argue if you want, but honestly, nothing is hard to get in that game. And that's what is somewhat annoying. The game is made for the people that complain about other games and don't like to work for anything. The whole selling point of the game is "No work, no grind, no fee, no nothing." I just like having stuff to look forward to and to feel rewarded about getting. And yeah the post-searing part you mentioned, it was the same area from level 5-13 pretty much. I like the snowy area, and goddamn the desert is annoying.

Also, the game claims to have balanced classes in PvP, which for the most part is true. However, if you've seen a group of all Necros who know what they're doing, you'd know that there is something wrong. I saw a group of 4 necros win around 140 in a row. I have a Warrior, and I can do well, but it's not like a Warrior can beat anybody, so it falls guilty to the same Rock Paper Scissors type deal WoW suffers from. Be honest =P

I'm not completely bashing the game, it has a lot of really good points. It's just not as "massive" as I usually like, and I think it falls victim to some problems that drove me away from other online RPGs. Flame on.

Yeah but people compare it to MMORPGs and say how much better it is, that's the thing. It's a decent game, I admit, but it's not the miracle to the Online RPG scene everyone is getting all giddy about.

There is no group in the game that has won 140 in a row. Led alone pure necros. Necros are a support agent and there is nothing they could do to do enough dmg like that to win vs a balanced team. Don't make up things :P

You'd be surprised. They have enough life sucking ability and stuff that siphons life for the WHOLE group that they are nearly impossible to kill as they have 4 people's worth of HP regen working on them.
