Awesome Doubles Charts

Post by Merk » Mon Sep 24, 2012 1:49 pm

Hey guys,

No one in the world plays doubles which is something I feel like we need to change. Everyone here knows more or less how all singles charts go but I honestly couldn't tell you at all how half of the double charts go. Since nearly all of us own a machine at the point, let's compile a list of songs with awesome doubles charts! Chad and I have been compiling a list but I'd love to hear other people's opinions on what good doubles charts are.

Some songs that I know are good off the top of my head:

B2UOG (oni)
CSFIL Speed Mix
Paranoia Evolution
Drivin'
Brilliant R-E-D
AA
Put Your Faith In Me (Supernova mix)
Make Your Move

Yup, Make Your Move is a fantastic chart, I'll add it to the OP. Damn shame it never made it past 5th.

Do You Remember Me I recall being pretty good - it's almost exactly like the single charts.

I honestly have no idea how Make a Jam! goes, I'm pretty sure this song didn't make it into Supernova unfortunately.

I'm on the fence about Moonlight Shadow, we have a thread on here that tries to debunk the nostalgia for that chart but I haven't had an opportunity to play it in recent memory so I can't form an opinion.

I'm still on D, so there's a long way to go before the song library A- Z is done. I'm planning on finishing my first draft, then playing the list again to separate the wheat from the chaff. Only then will I be ready to publish a list. I also might go back and try Standard (whatever they call it now) charts rated 7 or higher. There could be some hidden gems.

Right now I'm too bad at the game to even get through some of the 9s.

I disagree on playing standard charts. Would you do that for singles? No. Don't create a double standard.

I suggested you and Brian do that in singles back before you were playing doubles charts. I agree that playing 5's on standard is boring, but I'm going to guess you've never tried a standard on doubles regardless of difficulty.

Don't be a racist.

I dunno, Standard is almost always just a watered down version of the Heavy chart. I feel like if I'm going to play a song I might as well see what it fully has to offer.

I see a lot of candidates that are as likely to be good as any equally rated heavy chart, but there isn't any amount of evidence I could provide to make you change your mind. We'll see what my final list looks like, and you're welcome to agree or disagree.

There are some Standard charts that are great for freestyle! :)

I can't think of any off-hand that are as fun to the level of the (Heavy) ones that have been mentioned so far...but I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

How do people feel about Afronova? I'm going to play it tonight to see if it ranks up there as a good doubles chart but my faint memory of it is that it's a satisfactory chart at least.

Flowers - Seriously the gallops feel great with this chart. I don't know why they didn't put them on the Singles chart too.
Do You Remember Me - Surprisingly difficult but so much fun. Its never a option to play Doubles on Extreme and not choose this song.
Holic - Its just filled with a ton of pad transitions and the speed isn't that fast which makes for just a overall excellent chart.

Ecstasy is a pretty good chart! I played it last night while doing my little weekly thing that I do with Brian. I did pretty shitty on it but it has a lot of doubles-style cross-over turning
