V Needs Reliable Didder Pad...Please Help!
Hey everyone, long time no see I know...but here's the deal...
I want to lose the weight I put on when I got to lovely Bloomington and lived above a McDonald's for a year. DDR seems to be the only activity I'll do that will help me with this goal, therefore, I need a reliable, long-lasting DDR pad.
Price is not an issue.
So gimme what you got!!

Hopefully not at all. Getting a home pad not to move around while you're playing seems to be the biggest challenge. This is especially problematic for doubles play. That led me to take somewhat more drastic measures back before such nice home pads were available.Fluffyumpkins wrote:How much do they run?
But if you're asking about cost, I think you'll find what you're looking for here: http://www.mymybox.com/
gonna call bs on that... unless the "stream" is less than 10 notes long. one more lovely is 200BPM 16ths and there's very few people who can pass that.liquidblue aka DBV wrote:(i was getting a consistent stream of perfects on a 240BPM stream of 16ths, so....)
and lol@ Ho and Fluffy.. don't think either of them clicked my original link since the price was right there

I personally have played on one of these (and they do come without the bar) http://www.mymybox.com/ddrmbsgxg3651.html
If you want the arcade feel, get that, I am not sure of its durability, it says it is built just like the arcades which is not entirely accurate. The arcade platform has the 4 sensors lining where where panle rests, the Blue Shark the sensors rest in the middle of the hole in platform and when you step on it, it pushes on a metal bracket down on the sensor, so the durability is questionable with the blue shark....BUT it feels like you are playing on an arcade platform.
If you want durability, I don't mean to sound like am mimicing Chad here, but cobalt flux is the way to go. Look at his, it has gone through all of us b-town people playing it at Japan Night, Fluxes will last a long time. But at the same time the feel of a flux is something you have get used to.
I personally suggest the Flux, but that is also cause I like pump songs and I can play Pump it Up stepmania on a flux.

and I don't know jeremy.. towards the end of last semester that flux was starting to give some pad crap. You're just butthurt cuz you can't play pump on a sharkie!
Now, do they have pump pro for stepmania? Cuz if so then I might actually care.. but I'd probably want a separate one that recreates the arcade feel for pump. like the pump version of a blueshark.

Yeah that is similar in design...Ho wrote:Just an FYI, this is how the Solo stage is designed.lgolem wrote:the Blue Shark the sensors rest in the middle of the hole in platform and when you step on it, it pushes on a metal bracket down on the sensor
Under my my box, the diy kit by blueshark has ever part you need for replacing the parts on your blueshark, I guess that is also a bonus about the bluesharks.
Yeah I'm not too surprised about 240BPM on an easy stream like you're describing. Determinator has ~150 BPM 24ths which is ~225BPM 16ths.liquidblue aka DBV wrote: The thing is, the note stream was around 14 notes, but it was just two arrows. As in, left-right-left-right-left-right etc. or up-right-up-right-up-right
But for a hard stream 200BPM 16ths is crazy hard.
