The no speed mods thing is pretty weak. In fact, pretty much all the fun mods are gone as well. As far as the songlist and charts, I don't really have any complaints. Not a single revival is a welcoming thought, and a lot of the remixes of older DDR songs are pretty awesome. I won't post content though, for fear of spoilers.

Hands actually are used pretty well in a few charts. Since hands are almost always on the quarter beat, it offers up some interesting combinations of freestyle elements added to tech play. The difficulty range of the game is also very balanced. The 9's and higher are fairly difficult, while beginners can enjoy a tutorial song that plays almost like a parappa song.

The announcer for some reason keeps shouting through the Wiimote, "This song is the bomb."

Request: Can someone post that teaser page that has all of those quotes from bemani artists?

EDIT: Found.

Damn, no Speed Mods? That's guaranteed to piss off some people. Honestly, I don't really feel all too inclined to check this out since currently there are no songs from this release that will appear in the arcade. (Eventually some songs will make the jump, but most likely their notecharts will be altered as well.)

As a result of some information being leaked by Gamefly (which usually is pretty dead on with this information apparently), it looks there will be a Hottest Party 2 release.

Hopefully this time around it has a better songlist and has speed mods.
