La Máquina de Bailar

For you non-spanish speakers, that's "The Dance Machine."

It seems someone made a DDR movie...in Spain. Hence, it's in spanish. Click here to see the preview on YouTube. Looks like the release date is next week.

There was talk of a DDR movie in the past (mentioned here) that apparently went nowhere. But it looks like this one actually made it.

I have no idea what it's supposed to be about, but it sure looks like they had at least some Konami involvement. The Konami logo is displayed quite prominently, and they make no effort to obscure the branding of the game (though it's Dancing Stage).

My spanish is probably way too rusty to follow a movie, but I can't deny a sense of curiosity about this.

No clue. My spanish isn't strong enough...but I'm not sure I'd have a much better idea even if I did understand what was being said.

Here's another version of the trailer with some english in it. Not much help in the way of figuring out what the storyline might be though. But you'll notice the use of Dead End as the music. The other trailer had I'm In The Mood For Dancing. Both of these are songs that have appeared in DDR (Dead End even being a Konami Original)...further evidence to Konami's involvement in this project.

That was the worst, yet almost funniest preview of a movie I've ever seen.

You're totally right. I thought that movies couldn't get any worse from last year, but I've just been proven wrong with this one... excuse me while I shoot myself now.

Nah, that's alright Ho. I'm good now. Watched some of Monty Python's Holy Grail. No bullets needed anymore.

I hate to ruin the surprise, but this movie was garbage. I don't speak a word of spanish, and I didn't need to, I used the standard "Underdog prevails over the uber 1337 champion and gets the girl along the way" formula of the movie industry. They didn't even bother to hit the arrows during gameplay so basically it is squirming around on a pad for an hour and a half. But, it was worth a good laugh every now and then.

Somewhat quoted for truth. Given Konami's being shown quite a bit in the film, I find it very rediculous that they didn't use the actual game for alot of the gameplay stuff. I am considering making 1337 subtitles for the film though as it would probably make it much better.

I expected nothing more, but...

Where did you have the opportunity to actually see the movie?
