Apparently this has been around for a while... I really am not sure. Has anyone seen or played this?

How on earth do those on-screen instructions go? "Press the heart button to cancel your selection... press the almost-a-circle-only-not button to confirm... press the proof-of-Pythagorean-theorem button to save and exit to menu..."?

I think I might actually have tried it before. And it was really really stupid. I hated it. I did this Riley's hospital Dance Marathon, and DDR was there...and I think that TV game was it, and the pad wasn't good at all and the songs were limited and pointless. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong one, but if that's the same thing, it's really really really stupid.

I'm pretty sure that's not a licensed Konami product. Even though the sites selling it are calling it 'DDR' the actual product doesn't seem to say DDR or Dance Dance Revolution on it anywhere. Just another cheaply made ripoff game...

Just to clarify, the event referred to was NOT a DDR-A-Thon. I'd have more class than to use something like this at one of my events. 8)

The guys from Louisville bought one of those, tore out the control box, and wired a flux pad to it. Best game ever.

All the "let's put old fashioned games on controllers to plug into your TV and play that you can easily emulate on PC" games were bad enough.

This is just wrong.....

Here's a little update on this topic...

It seems that Konami is now releasing an official DDR game in this format (plug directly into your TV; no game system required).

My First Dance Dance Revolution

It looks like it's slated to be released this fall along with the slew of other home DDR releases.

Since they say 3 dance modes, and it's geared toward new players, I betcha it won't have heavy. Plus, the twenty popular songs are all gonna be licensed crap or Butterfly-like stuff.

Lol. Why aren't you?

EDIT: I wasn't meaning for this to turn into some big discussion about the pros and cons of pessimism/optimism, just sort of joking around. So don't offer some big explanation about how it's better to look at the world in a positive light. Lol.

Because I thankfully do not receive daily visits from the Department of Peeing in Dan's Wheaties.

Phew, quick response, didn't even get my edit in in time. Well, I dunno. I didn't think I was being negative. I was just saying I wasn't personally looking forward to the release of the MFDDR. Let the MF stand for what you will.

I wonder if it's gonna have some freaky instructions on how to use it, like "tnurnb".
