"Noobies"

Post by Juwi bean » Thu Feb 10, 2005 11:16 am

It's so funny to just look through the threads and see these people who are like "Remember the good old days" and they've only been playing for a year or so. They were so new...barely able to play when I knew them.

I bet the first generation players feel that way about me, lol.

I just love to laugh about that

"Way back when" lol...that cracks me up.

While we're on that subject...
how long have you guys been playing ddr?

I, myself, have (or had) been playing for two years, almost two and a half. I started October of 2002

Should this be in the General DDR Discussion thread?

I first stepped on a DDR pad (3rd Korean at Lazerlite one week before it became DDR MAX) in March or April of 2002, so that makes it almost 3 years ago.

I'm a DDR n00blet.

At least I don't act like one. -.-

I've only been playing since July 2004.
No more eggs! :D
An actual signature will come soon, I suppose.

I vote yes; moved to General DDR.

The first time I stepped on a DDR mat was around October of 2001. It was an on and off thing, as I could only play when I went over to my friend's house. About midway through 2002 I bought my own pads so I could play more and eventually moved to the arcade (yes, I moved to and lived at the arcade for all intents and purpose).

I've been playing since late 2000, though I didn't join the group till about May 2001... I think.

I guess that makes me one of the "First Generation" players.

I started playing BEFORE it was cool.

Oh GOD, I'm a tread pimp!

DDR has never been cool. Fun, yes. Popular? In it's own way, sure. Cool? No.

To answer the question, I started playing in 2001. In terms of amount of time actively playing the game however, not as long as many people on the board.

You could start today and you'd have started before it was cool.

Sadly I was a DDRMax Ps2 kid. It's been just over two years for me. Though my arcade ddring was mostly done on a 3rd mix in my early days.

This is m fourth year playing the great DDR. (I Think, maybe 3rd) I started on good ol' max2 at "The Wash". I miss "The Wash" 'twas great! Everybody was so cool there, now DDR is a giant competition. That's why I like Eastside putt putt, no one really goes there, lol!

I started playing 2 years ago at a friends birthday party... It's never really gotten old since that time, because i find new people to play with, who find it exciting... I don't get to play much in the arcade any more(lazer x or TnT), except on the weekends, because I go to school at Huntington (Go HC!!! woot)... It alotta fun because no one here has ever been exposed to it until this year, so I act as like the resident DDR guru, which is cool I guess, becasuse in any other circle, getting 7-8 AA's isn't very exciting...

My girlfriend and another good friend of mine are really gettin' good at it, which makes the game alotta fun, because it brings back the fun of learning it all over again seeing them play.... My girlfriend can pass some 9 footers, (she was on light in november!) and for some reason she thinks i'm attractive when I DDR... I wouldnt think all that sweating and awkward movement would be a turn on... but I'll take what I can get ;)

Hooray DDR. It got me a girlfriend. Who thought video games would be productive?

Was it 2002 when West Side become popular? If that's true...I've been playing since October of 2001 not 2002. Wow...that's a long time...I haven't been playing THAT long...have I?
