Pump VS IndyDDR: Colonblow

Post by Amp Divorax » Tue Sep 02, 2014 5:59 pm

Ok, this isn't going to happen immediately, but once I have my pump cabinet ready to go (Looking to have NX2 or newer along with the parts I plan to order) then we'll start doing songs on a weekly basis. This will be full-double only as to be honest, it's more enjoyable. Infinity scores will be accepted so long as full info is given. (I.E., superbs for those using Pro Mode, perfects, greats, goods, bads, and misses.)

FWIW, Merk and I have simply been ignoring Marvelous (counting them as Perfect). While I may participate in this with you, I am not at all likely to start paying attention to Superb. Also, I don't know about Infinity, but songs that appeared in Pro2 that later ended up in Fiesta (EX/2) usually had a different chart, I think. So the mix could matter.

Even in mainline with charts that "didn't change", there are sometimes significant glitch differences between mixes. This can add up to something like 50 steps in the grade count in some cases. There's really no good way to fully compare scores between PIU mixes though you can probably get close enough to have fun.

Of course this is Pump, so we should be going by money score anyway. ;)

Eh, that chart is actually not that hard. It just happens to score REALLY high on Zero. It's the left (IIRC) side of the union [A] NM chart.

For songs that first appeared in the Pro series, Infinity will actually state if the chart comes from Pro or if it is from mainline. As for infinity's charts, I don't know how different they will be.

In the case of timing, Perfects should be good enough and superbs will be optional.

Also, make sure songs are sensible as we aren't young and I'm still recovering from knee issues.

I wasn't actually suggesting that you use that song. It was simply a response to the proposal that we use money score for comparisons. That particular chart scores hilariously high on Zero.

Time to update this thing. So long as everything goes as planned, the first challenge will be on December 20th. I will be playing on Pump It Up Fiesta for the time being, but depending on the songlist I may also acquire Prime.

LOL! Fiesta has arrived and aside from the monitor the machine is ready to go. Brian, you get first pick!

My Pump monitor is being a little fussy, too (in a different way than yours). I'll think about a song to go first. This seems like a big decision!

In the meantime, this might be handy for this:

I'm guessing you have Fiesta in right now. I actually have Exceed 2 in at the moment. I'll try to pick something that either of us can play without switching. Although I believe this will make score attack useless. Seems a shame since it's the easy and traditional way to do things on Pump. What are your thoughts on how we should log scores and if we should make any effort to play on the same mix? I know Merk and I have been pretty lax in the other thread. I personally don't have a lot of preference.

Indeed Fiesta is in and I have Zero as well. I think the best way to handle it for Pump is to handle the same as the other thread, but with the addition of a max combo since that does figure into scoring aside from times when we can use the same version or for any weeks that we may want to go to Latitude 39. (which moved it's machine to a better location btw.)
