IIDX Song of the Week: Good Cool VS DJ Nagureo

So yea, song of the week for IIDX. Basic ground rules:

Play the song on any difficulty of choice and post the score.

If the song has more than one chart on a difficulty (Example: Outer Limits Hyper and Back Into The Light getting new charts in DistorteD CS) please state the version to be played.

For Week 4, we're doing both 19, November by Good Cool and 20, November by DJ Nagureo. Sadly.... even though 20, November was made when Reo Nagumo worked for Konami directly and was actually one of the first songs ever made for anything Bemani, this song would be removed along with the overwhelming majority of Nagumo songs in IIDX Empress.

Insert nonexistant awesome graphic here!

Week 1: Satfinal:
Hyper:
Pokebis: 477/186/49/9/10*

Another:
Merk: 808/130/17/2/11 (1746 EX) (Top Score due to forfeiture)
Me: 829/101/25/3/8 (1759 EX)

Week 2: Grid Knight:
Hyper:
Merk: -14 EX from AAA
Me: 1811 EX

Week 3: Pretty Punisher:
Hyper:
ImuyumI: 1095 EX
Merk: 1345 EX
Me: 1389 EX

Week 4 Song 1: 19, Nov

Week 4 Song 2: 20, Nov

Hyper or Another? I do not like my chances in this activity. ;)

It's a lot harder to pull this off with Beet since there is a huge gap in skill amongst all of us unlike in DDR. We should probably do something where Amp and I post our best Another scores while everyone else does Light7 since there is no way people who don't play this game regularly can be even remotely competitive on Hyper/Another charts.

People who want to participate should declare which difficulty group (L7/7/A) they want to play in and from then on out all their scores will be on that difficulty. For example:

Code: Select all

Light7 Hyper Another
----- ----- ------
Ho Pokebis Merk
Riot Imuyumi Amp
Chad
So Ho, Riot, and Chad's scores on Light7 are all directly compared against each other while my scores and Amp's scores on Another are compared.

This would mean that you'd sort of have to manage three different dickwag contests when you update the OP.

But hey, let's not sweat the small stuff. I'm down with playing Satfinal!

Now you must come up with a witty title and an appropriate picture for this week's song.

I can pass 6, usually 7, rarely 8. I also might need help accessing some of these games. Remind me tonight, Merk, and bring Pop'n controller.

I am bringing Pop'n controller. If you have the goods you can get access to these games easily.

Hrm. I need to get a working computer that lets me put things on a hard thing.

I don't have any goods so I can't play. I've never had any equipment except for playing on the setup we had at 505 for maybe half a year or else I would be a bigger beet player I think. I bet I'd be pretty good if I ever had a home setup. And I'd be in the Hyper section not Light section I ain't no babby.

Am I allowed to use Lunatic Rave? I don't want to bother setting up the bed-set every week and then worrying about what disc the song is on. Scores are calculated the same and I can take screenies and even replays.

This is all for fun. For DDR Merk said, "We will count Stepmania until you start getting AAAs and SDGs and beating everyone. Right now everything is on the honor system but if you AAA something and you get called out on it then we will want a picture."

Prolly no big deal.

Well, if I actually were to use a Keyboard in this case I would have more difficulty playing than with a real controller.
And you guys should be able to tell when I auto-play. Cool, I'll play Satfinal [H] later.

This is roughly my skill level as well...at least it was when I was actually playing more than 3-4 times a year.

Difficulties tend to be all over the map. I can think of a lot of instances where I'd be pretty bored playing on Normal/L7 and the Hyper/7 would be more in my range (or may even still be kind of easy). And I can think of just as many where the Normal is plenty difficult already and the Hyper would be an exercise in key mashing for me.

I don't know how much you can really compare if we're playing different charts anyway, so how about we just play at/around our level for each song and just leave it at that?

At any rate, where will I find this week's song? I have access to any of the CS games, but I only have Gold AC at the moment.

RemyWiki is a good source for hunting down mixes. You also get nice trivia with the songs.
The video contains the character Acty Aries. The overlays became somewhat of an inside joke due to the overt bouncing of Acty's breasts, similar to the recurring trend in the fighting game series Dead or Alive. This was toned down in CS DJ TROOPERS for the game to keep its "A" rating.
Enjoy Brian!

Should we play Random? Does it matter?

What I got on the Hyper:
Image
(Song title is pink because it can't tell what songs are EMPRESS so I just have font color on EMPRESS color.)

My timing sort of sucks with my LCD setup and my PS2-USB adapter and I believe the timing is as tight if not tighter than AC so I basically don't AAA anything. Still like this score, though.

Don't like how LR2 takes pics in such a low resolution, it's running in 1920x1080. Need to figure out how to fix that.
