Edit to the rules:

Solo may be chosen without both player's consent. If one person chooses solo and the other player does not want it, they are free to choose flat.

Also, songs may only be picked once by each player. If you have a song that you are good at, save it for when you need it. Once you pick it, you can't pick it again. However, if your opponent picks that song, you can pick it again in that match or in another match.

Just to note, choosing Flat while the other person chooses Solo produces Flat Solo arrows that are not the same as regular Flat arrows. I would know since I choose Flat most of the time and it seems it's en vogue lately for many people to choose Solo. I wouldn't say that Flat Solo bothers me, but I just thought you should be aware that it is different and that Solo still has an effect on the opponent regardless of what he/she picks.

It's more of just a way to get the solo colors off since some people do not like them.

Having it be flat instead of vivid is definetely a huge effect in itself. Really it's just a preference thing. I see a lot of tournaments that do not allow solo so I think it would be neat to allow solo for once.

I also wanted to post my thanks to you indy guys. Those that came down helped to make it an absolutely fantastic tourney. In fact, the tourney went so well we are already discussing the next tourney run on 7th mix, hosted by LiLTT! Post your vote in the kyddr.net tourney section for whether or not to have a qualifier. And, of course, it's going to be well after the uber awesome DDR-A-THON event. I'm very tentatively looking at May 1st, Sunday, which is the last weekend that U of L is open before summer break.
