Heavy requirements increase?

It seems a few people (Xero, Mosh, OrangeLounger, and gasflame) have been bumped back to standard.

I don't remember seeing them get consistently bad ratings, or needing to have direct administrative action taken against them. The only other possibility is that they were on the verge, and you increased the threshold.

Now, what exactly happened?

We are currently in the process of revamping the ratings system to deal with some trends that we have observed over the past couple months. Things will be in flux for a bit. I will make a specific announcement when the work has been completed.

I'm gonna say that I should be on standard anyways.

I'm a post whore, and very little I say is really important in a conversation. I know this. n_n

I put you back down with one rating lol, but don't worry, you'll be back up in a minute.

Actually, we found a problem with the way ratings were being calculated that was causing ranks to be assigned incorrectly in some cases. That problem should now be corrected, however there are still a few more changes in the works that may cause some ranking shifts. As I stated before, I'll make an announcement once things are settled.

The changes I eluded to earlier have now been completed. It has resulted in a change in rank for some more users. The changes have made it somewhat more difficult to achive the Heavy rank in some cases, however the goal was simply to balance the system out and try to deal with some of the usage patterns we've been observing since the system was put in place.

I've magically dropped from Standard to Warning, because people like to rate anything I post as "Boo."

Thanks Brian.

You already complained about the rank change when the first set of changes went into effect a few weeks ago. I think the effect of the most recent changes actually served to bump your overall rating back up a litttle.

But in the end, I'm not the only person giving you ratings and I didn't alter any of the ratings that have been given to you. I'm sorry that the new calculations do not work in your favor. They were not intended to single anyone out. They were only meant to correct the effects of dubious ways in which some users have chosen to abuse the system.

A lot of people dropped from Heavy down to Standard. You dropped from Standard down to Warning. In either case, this is only a drop of one rank...and certainly not unusual even under the old system if you were close to the border to begin with.

Besides, the limitations of Warning are pretty light and likely not even affecting your amount of usage lately anyway. Please lay your guilt trip somewhere else.

Doesn't really matter to me I guess, I don't often get rankings anyways, and when I do they are usually almost always good. *shrugs*
