Site is being extra slow for me again. Every other site I go to loads as soon as I click the link in my favorites but this site takes foreeeeeever. Also half the time when it loads I am logged out and all posts have been marked read.

It appears to be a routing issue. Depending on where you're coming from, response times can range from "just fine" to "abyssmal" or perhaps even as bad as "completely broke ass."

It's been pretty terrible for me from my office, but it's been reasonably fine from home.

I'm looking into some options...stay tuned.

We're on a new server! Hopefully anyone that's been having problems is seeing the same massive improvement that I'm currently experiencing.

I've also noticed I get logged out if I follow a link to another post. I think it's relying on session ID alone and not cookies. This should be fixable.

thanks for taking the initiative to fix all these bugs!ยก

So far these aren't bugs...they're just misconfigurations that either didn't port well from the old site or new options that need to be specifically configured. But yeah, we want to make things work.

Okay, noticed another thing.
Again, not really a bug, just a new thing that I don't much like.
"You may embed only 3 quotes within each other."
WTF? So no more quote trees? Okay, but seriously. Even on-topic, useful conversations can have well over 3 embedded quotes. Any way to turn this off?

I just looked and confirmed that quote depth is now a configurable option. The default appears to be 3 as you have observed.

Quote trees have definitely gotten uselessly ridiculous in the past. I can't say that I'd miss them. But to answer your request, point me to a reasonable use of a quote depth higher than 3 somewhere in these forums and I will consider changing this setting.

TO ALL: This goes for any change requests...if you make a good case for your request, I will be much more inclined to attempt to grant it.

Post contrast colors bothering anyone else? I'm talking about the color difference between a post and the posts above and below it. I barely noticed a difference, so badly that the line between someone's post and their signature stood out so much more that I thought that was the marker between two posts. Then I changed my monitor color settings a little bit and the difference is slightly easier to see. But it would still make the site much easier to read if this difference could be more noticeable or perhaps for posts to have borders.
