For those of you that fear change...
For those of you that fear change...
...the subsilver2 style is now installed.
subsilver2 is very similar to the subsilver style that this site used prior to the April Fools upgrade. It is somewhat modified to work with the new phpBB3, but it should look pretty familiar.
If you would like to use the subsilver2 style, click User Control Panel, click the Board Preferences tab, and then choose subsilver2 in the drop down list labeled My Board Style. Click Submit to make the change.
While you're making this change, might I also suggest that you change your timezone to [UTC - 5] Eastern Standard Time and click Yes for Summer Time/DST is in effect (or whatever is appropriate for you if you are outside the majority of Indiana this applies to). You'll want to set this to No when DST ends later this year. It's still a manual process, but phpBB3 seems a little bit better about handling DST this way than before.

Damn it Ho, you left it unchangeable just long enough for me to get used to it. Now the old style feels weird.
Well, I guess I'm sticking with the new style after all.

Been using the old style since it was installed. Does anyone here use the 'new' style? God it's awful...

Re: For those of you that fear change...
I use the "new" style. That's how I roll.
Re: For those of you that fear change...
I use the "new" prosilver style. I prefer it to subsilver or subsilver2.
BTW, according to the admin console, style usage is as follows:
prosilver: 655
subsilver2: 15
So there you have it.

Re: For those of you that fear change...
After I posted that I was like, "655? We have that many users?" I checked, and there are a bunch of bot registrations from back in the spring. Still, that only accounted for maybe 100-150 users, so the prosilver style is still used by far more people here than subsilver2.
It is also (past) time to turn off the Summer Time/DST option I mentioned in the initial post of this thread.

The people that use the subsilver theme are a rare and very baller breed.
I still shudder when I think about the other theme God that theme sucked. Honestly who thought it was a good idea to put usernames and avatars to the right of the post when just about 99% of the internet has that information to the left of each post.

After a short period of getting used to it, I find I quite prefer the new style. It just seems to flow better when reading posts. :S

I use PRO silver for obvious reasons (I should get paid to post here).

I agree with Tim. I generally only glance at or completely ignore the poster information. I can usually tell who is "speaking" without really looking and I don't really care about the rest of the info displayed there. Being over on the right, it's out of my way while I'm reading the actual post.WhiteDragon wrote:After a short period of getting used to it, I find I quite prefer the new style. In addition, prosilver has more modern look to it. Subsilver, by comparison, looks more dated with its hard corners and harsher colors. Of course which you prefer is a matter of personal preference.

Re: For those of you that fear change...
I do fear change and I play video games that came out pretty much from 1985-2003 so yeah the Subsilver theme is perfect for a young man like me.
I tell ya they don't make forums like they used to.

I like the "new" theme too. It has round corners. I feel safe here.
