NX2 Scape, February 23rd (new version, new format)

Post by lgolem » Mon Jan 07, 2008 4:28 pm

PUMP FIASCO

Date: February 23, 2008

Location: College Mall
2990 East Third Street
Bloomington, Indiana 47401

Where in the mall: In the Great X Scape Arcade

Time: Free play at 10; tech tourney around 1; freestyle after tech tournament; if time remains an informal doubles tournament will be drawn up

Tentative Division Lineup: Technical and Freestyle and Doubles Tech (Time Pending)

Prizes: Cash Prizes, maybe some other random prizes.

Entry Fee: $5 per division (except the Doubles if it takes place) all money goes back to the top 3

Condition of the machine: Excellent condition, NX2 GX machine

Freeplay: All day pretty much

More Info Per Division:

Freestyle

One song…Give us one fantastic show, keep it clean, no stripping please, judging is based upon, showmanship, technique, and crowd response.

Doubles Tech (time pending)
If we have time we will draw up a doubles tech tourney. Pretty much we will draw a song at random and everyone does it on nightmare, the person (or persons pending on time and size of participation) with the lowest scores will be eliminated. And the final will be a best 2 out of 3 of random drawn new to NX2 songs.

Tech/Crazy
- Double Elimination

Qualifier Method: NO QUALIFIERS, random seeding.

- Best 2 out of 3 songs per match. Since there is no seeding scores, it is on a courtesy bases of who picks the song first, if you can’t decide a coin toss will take place to decide for you of who gets to pick first. Winner determined by score. Third song will be a random draw from the whole song list, the players will choose the difficulty, if they can't make up there mind a coin will be tossed.

- A song/difficulty combination may only be picked once by the same person in the duration of the tournament.

- We will allow split difficulties during this tournament, so if your goal is to have fun and pick something on Hard just to enjoy yourself, the person who you are going against can choose that song on CZ if they want too, this means though if your goal is to win by picking it on hard, they are more than likely going to win due to CZs have more steps. But it can work the other way, if someone were to pick something like a 20 or so and you know you will lose, you can play it on a lower difficulty so you can still have fun.

- No mods other than speed mods and arrow skin mods (that don’t affect the other player) are allowed.

- If you are not present for your round, we will try to find you, if not found well will proceed to the next round. If you are not back by the time that round is over your scores will be 0 so you will lose that round.

- The use of Bar will be allowed for the entire tournament this time around.

- There will be no elimination of easier songs as the tournament progresses, any song on arcade station on any difficulty is available up until the finals.

- Finals will be a best 3 out of 5 round. The song will be drawn and played on crazy.

I might drop by this for a bit. Considering the fact that I haven't passed a Nightmare yet and my freestyles are still m00t, I might just drop by to hang out, eat Chik-fil-A, and hope there's time for the King of the Hill.

Also, my brother's birthday is the 24th, so I'm not sure what that means for a mandatory family party.

Can I bring my own version of Pump for a freestyle?
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Well the earlier Pump tourneys have been out in the center court, just clarifying that it won't be this time.

If I go, I know I probably will play, but will probably be focused more on the Beatmania machine than PiU. Zeke will probably be more focused on Third Strike.

We need side tourneys :D.

Good idea!

I have to chuckle a little bit about "technical" freestyles being the half double Anothers for LIADZ and Vook FS - but nevertheless a decent songlist.

I'll be attending.

I'll be there. Hmm... this does mean I'll have to put together a new freestyle routine...
