SuperNOVA Tournament June 2nd Gameworks, Indy.

Post by The X » Fri May 18, 2007 9:53 am

I promised some details, and here they are...

Gameworks is FINALLY hosting a DDR tournament. It will be held on June 2nd, and the top prize is 2 plane tickets to anywhere in the country. I jest you not.

I'm sure 2nd and 3rd get some prizes too, but I'm not sure what they are yet. The people I'm working with to organize this thing haven't really told me yet...

At the very least, the rules have been confirmed...

For this one, we'll have random seeding, due to possible time restraints...

3 song sets.

Highest seed picks first.

Second highest seed picks 2nd.

Third song(if necesary), Random song.

If Third song is a tie, Both players will play an additional song. It will be Random, on Heavy(Excuse me.....EXPERT), and will be on Shuffle mode.

Speed mods are allowed(x1.5, Boost, etc.). Color changing mods are also allowed, but any other mod is banned.

Winner will be based on Highest score. Whoever wins 2 out of 3 songs is the winner.

Single Elimination, unless we work something out.

All difficulties are allowed, except for beginner. Both players must play the same difficulty and agree on it before picking the song.

So. That's it. Pretty much your standard tourney. But the prize is sweet.

The entry fee is $10. Registration starts at Noon. The tourney itself begins at 1.

More details will be available, as we get this thing organized.

I will also try to get them to include a Freestyle contest. It depends on how long the Tourney goes.

And I will also get them working on the pads. So don't worry. They WILL work!

How come score for winning? Isn't the P*2 + G the standard nowadays?

SuperNOVA has a legitimate point System. If both players get the same amount of Perfect/Greats/Whatever, the scores will be the same.

Darn! Looks like I'll have to miss due to a large amount of open houses.

Hmm....looks like I'll need to get some more practice before this. I guess tuedays I'll have to whore harder songs and start using boost to try and get my timing better.

............and hopefully I don't get paired against X first round......

that would suck -->I so wanna go farther than round 1
I just love the way Dancing on Arrows make me feel, especially when I pass out from this song....

wow I havent post anything in months. Damn near resembles last year. Injuries and illness has kept me away from GW. Hell, I finally got a hold off a SuperNOVA home version and havent played that in months either. Good time to start after hearing the big news. Last tourney I played at GW was in 05 when they had the DDR league. Depending on how many ppl when participate (Im thinking a lot) will determine how I will satck up. Realistically speaking, I have a slim chance due to lack of practice and the other guys tons of experience on each song. But i will give it a shot though.

I'd also lose terribly anyway.

Well, I prefer this method. Even though it may not be the simplest way, I think it is the more accurate way.

You have a 1/2 on bottom, same as a 2* on top.
