PIU Tourney in Bloomington

Post by Fluffyumpkins » Mon Nov 28, 2005 7:04 pm

This isn't really anything in stone, but you might like to know. I was talking to a Great X-Scape employee and they are planning on having an Exceed 2 tourney this spring.

The stars have disappeared from the sky. The cause is being investigated.

I was told the same thing by an employee. We just need to make sure that they get one of us to be involved in setting this up. Player-run tournaments are much better than employee-run tournaments, of course...

Depends on the player...

...depends on the employee.

I've been to both kinds that have been both awesome and awful.

That's true I suppose... as long as the employees have at least SOME knowledge of the game and how it works.

I spoke with the arcade manager today at the mall; a Bloomington PIU tournament is definitely going to happen, and it looks like it will really be something special! The manager is going to rent out the center court in the mall, perhaps for 2 days(!), and place the PIU machine out there, which will be great fun. There will be some great prizes, including (probably) a Video iPod.

I have volunteered to help get this thing organized, and it looks like the date will be sometime in March. I'll make a more official post as soon things get more solidified.

Sounds fun. I'll pass this around to the other Louisville players. Maybe we can setup a road trip to this one.

Tentative date is the weekend of March 24-26. I will make an official post regarding date and rules soon, probably this weekend. If anyone has any input regarding how to run the tournament, post it here. Although I've done many DDR tournies, this is my first for PIU. I'll probably use Ho's X-Site tourney as a model...

Looks like that should work for me. This is at College Mall? Yet another "take SR46 until you get there" thing I guess :)

Bonus points for getting a DDR machine out there too :)
