Actually....

The poster of that commercial is pretty f'n awesome on classic Beatmania and would probably destroy it outright if he played it on The Final or one of the BMIII releases.

I was referring to the guy in the commercial itself. He was using multiple fingers to hit single keys. I was amused. I also noted that they showed no actual gameplay screens in that commercial. 5-key beatmania was never much to look at, but still...curious.

When I play, most of the time I hit each key with 2 fingers. I also play 2-handed all the time, though. Is it weird to use multiple fingers?

Well, on R5 Another I use it to do the roll of death!

Oh, I'll hit keys with multiple fingers sometimes, too. It's just that you really start to need your fingers separated as you progress through the levels--especially if you play one-handed or doubles (both of which I do).

I just found his particular style rather amusing. He might as well have been playing in mittens. :P

I'm sure that's true, but I didn't find it a handicap at all, and I could pass several 7* songs.

What scale are you following on difficulty? The old 7 star scale, the 8 star scale, or the 12 star scale?

The 10* scale used on bmUS.

You may want to use the 12 star system as it is the accepted standard by all players. I should also mention that the US scale is completely broken and inaccurate.

I checked VJArmy, and the highest I had passed was 7*, so my original statement still stands.
