Most of the game can be unlocked by simply playing a bunch. Most versions (I don't remember RED specifically) give you a few extra songs once you clear every song on any difficulty (easy is allowed, but auto-scratch doesn't count).

IIRC, the only way to COMPLETELY unlock RED is to clear 10th Dan, which you have no hope in hell of doing. If you do manage to do so, that will instantly unlock everything.

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

What if you, Merk, Ho, Jon, Amp, Me, and cbav, each take a key and give the turntable to someone else. Could we pass it?

what's Dan?

Gamefaqs doesn't explain itself very much.

And I can't read Japanese.

The Dan courses are class ranking courses by which players can compare their skill at passing difficult songs in a nonstop fashion (with the bar carrying over between songs and on autofail). In theory, Dan courses are supposed to be comparable between styles, so clearing e.g. 6th Dan on 10th means you should probably do just about as well at 6th Dan on 9th or Happy Sky.

10th Dan is the highest of the class rankings. Expect 12 star difficulties for each stage. The life bar is essentially the autofail aspect of "Hard", but with regeneration and damage at the normal levels, however, like DDR nonstop, you carry the bar over between stages. Clearing 10th Dan is a hell of an accomplishment.

If you can AA A [A], then you might have a shot at clearing 10th Dan. If you can AAA AA [A], then you should be able to pass it without difficulty (yeah, I'm just having fun here).

For comparison, I've cleared 6th Dan and AMP's VJ Army profile says his class rank is 8th Dan, but it's possible that may be out of date. PIMP's profile says 9th Dan, and he has a AA clear listed for A [A7].

Suffice to say, don't hold your breath. Look for other methods of unlocking.

No. Timing it correctly would be pretty much impossible.

Haha, I'm in. It would be tricky...to film

Here is a good bit of info on the notebursts. I HATE that you are forced to clear the hardest courses in the game to access the last ones. That said, RED CS is still my #1 style, at least until Distorted CS hits...and it still probably won't beat RED.

Fully unlocking the game requires that the class courses be played through as much as possible, for all songs to be cleared on one difficulty, and to get over 1000 DJ Points. The final unlocks in class mode come from 8th dan, which is not easy as the final song is Gigadelic Hyper (12!) which has the most garbage ending I have ever seen!

Also, I'm glad MonMotha mentioned my VJarmy info as I forgot to update it as I have cleared 9th Dan, but 10th is gonna be very difficult as it's all 12s on almost all games.
