IIDX Distorted Confirmed

Post by Amp Divorax » Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:02 pm

On April 25th - June 4th, Konami will once again be collecting scores for rival data. Along with this 14 revival songs have been confirmed.

DRUM'N'BASS / era(nostalmix / TaQ
DRUM'N'BASS / Digital MinD (A/T Libra Mix) / TaQ
GARAGE HOUSE / dual control / Mr.T
ITALO HOUSE / I Was The One / good-cool
DANCE POP / IS THIS LOVE? / Asuka M.
DRUM'N'BASS / Karma / TaQ
PIANO AMBIENT /Presto / Osamu Kubota
TRANCE / quasar / OutPhase
SPEED RAVE / RED ZONE / NAOKI&Tatsh
FUTURE JAZZ / RUGGED ASH / SYMPHONIC DEFOGGERS
BIG BEAT / Schlagwerk / TaQ
MEDIEVAL CHOIR / Sphere / Tatsh
TECHNO / stoic / TaQ
SPIRITUAL / 桜 / Reven-G
HUMAN SEQUENCER / 冥 / Amuro vs. Killer

While it does looks like a pretty decent list I was expecting more pre-9th style songs. What has me surprised though is the inclusion of Rugged Ash.

Yea, I'm expecting a September release date for this since they have a 9 month release schedule going on for the arcade and the home versions have finally caught up. Two notes I should mention is that the 3 DistorteD songs that didn't appear in Gold won't be a part of the rival data deal, but will most likely appear on the CS release. Also, given that there are only 68 songs that are a part of the Rival Data list, I'm expecting that there may be songs being revived that are no longer in the arcade (Paranoia Max and Outer Limits are likely candidates in my opinion.) and possibly a larger amount of Console Exclusive songs. (As long as they don't have f*cked up notecharts like Happy Sky's Exclusives I have no problem with that.)

Well I guess I should make a wishlist for what I want to see revived:

R5
Leading Cyber
250BPM
QQQ
Ride on The Light
G2
Kakumei
Insertion
Innocent Walls

Wishful thinking, but hey, none of these have seen a revival on the RED+ engine.

Personally I have to think that the series would benefit from a best hits release due to the immense amount of songs still in the arcade that haven't been revived since 8th style.

A bit of an update. It was recently confirmed that AA will be revived in this style.

Also, 3 of the Console Exclusives will be collaborations with some rather odd pairings. Here's the info I have currently:

dj TAKA & DJ YOSHITAKA
kors k & L.E.D.
Sota Fujimori & Ryu

Sometime in the next month or two the release date should hopefully be confirmed as the Rival Data Collection phase is ending on Monday. There's also a good chance that this will include DAIPI's (Rumored to be Dolce's new IIDX name) extremely psychotic scores. (98.22% on V another and 96.84% on AA another are two of the scariest scores I have EVER seen in my life!)

The Release Date has been confirmed as August 30th. Let the long wait begin!

Edit: Rei-ZERO by Terra has been confirmed as a Preview song from IIDX Gold! Currently I cannot find a non-crappy quality video of this song, but the return of preview songs should make plenty of people happy.

Another song has been confirmed as a revival (Of sorts) and remembering the notechart for it gives me nightmares.

eRAseRmOToRpHAntOM has been confirmed on the official game page. The question I have is will it have notecharts for normal and hyper.

Edit: More songs have been confirmed.

General Relativity (Hopefully the timing is fixed on this one finally.)
Smoke
Outer Limits (Oh f*ck yea! My favorite song finally gets a proper revival! If this gets an Another Notechart then that will be nothing short of f*cking awesome!)

Oh, Break Out and Spring Rain, which only appeared in DistorteD arcade and NOT Gold will both be on there. However, it's also been confirmed that due to licensing issues Samba De Janerio will not be on there. (Konami doesn't feel like having to deal with another long delay like they did with 7th style most likely. I'll also go on record as saying that I honestly don't mind this development as Samba De Janerio's continual appearence in Bemani annoys me.)

Edit: It's been announced that both versions of Why Did You Go Away will be on DistorteD as separate songs. (The Boys Reason version was the Another and the Girls Reason version was the Normal/Hyper in the arcade.)

I'm expecting something pretty hard for the 7 key adaptation of this song. (It was confirmed that all 4 of these songs will indeed be 7 keys and not 5 keys only.) Here's the another which is widely considered to be one of the hardest 5 key notecharts.

Well, if Konami of America would actually try to promote their products...
