lgolems stupid question

Post by lgolem » Sun Dec 31, 2006 2:22 pm

is there a program that you can play Beatmania on your comp...you know like a beatmania equivilant to stepmania....on that same note is the one for Pop'n (I know wrong thread but I figured someone might now)?

BM98, but I've never tried it, and it's probably the one Riot says is bad. On that note, check out http://www.simulationstyle.com , they have basically every available emu prog for all rhythm games out there.

EDIT: I guess they changed it so you have to be a member to access the Rhythm Simulation section (membership is free, though) so here are the simulation categories that they have:
Beatmania
DDR
DM/GF
EZ2Dancer
Guitar Hero
Keyboard Mania
Pop 'n Music
PIU
SingStar
3D/Online (not a game, just for games that are 3D and/or online)
Other Games/Simulators

Hope you find what you're looking for.

Supposedly the best beatmania simulator nowadays is BePachi Music. There's also BemaniDX, and I think SSRMax does... stuff. I'm not too clear on it, since I prefer not to mess with adapting my controllers for PC use. (Except for the Pop'n controller. And that was a special case. And it didn't turn out too well anyway.)

Oh, yeah, and as to Pop'n: Feeling Pomu.

SSRMax I believe is one of the best ones that people use and much more customizable than BemaniDX (like skins and stuff, also does BGA support). BM98 is just ooooolllld. It's like using Diet Diet instead of Stepmania.

And yeah for Pop 'n, use Feeling Pomu.

One note about using a KOCs on a PC, I recommend changing the USB polling rate for best results. For JP KOCs, they can be set to 1,000 hz whereas US KOCs can only go up to 250 hz.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Syst ... cher.shtml is the program I use to do this and this makes the controller not only alot more responsive, but it reduces lagtime to almost nothing for my Radioshack adapter.

I can't get it to work =/ I get weird errors when I try to cache a folder and try to start the game. I switched windows mode to windows 2000 like it said in the readme, but nothing works still.

Surprisingly, Google normally can search the internet much faster than you can get a useful answer on a message board with <30 active members.
