TDK is 1st class media and along with (oddly enough) Sony are my two favs. The older Memorex were really good, but then they changed to lower class manufacturers and went to hell.

I usually follow http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm in terms of what DVD media to purchase. 3rd and 4th class media doesn't work worth a shit and 2nd class isn't good for games using video.
It wasn't burned it was an actual Japanese copy of 10th style.

Well, either the disc isn't good quality or your PStwo laser is going to hell.

ok, so I decided to play some old beatmania IIDX today (since it being easter I have NOTHING to do), I popped in 6th style, went to free and only 1 song is available, I didn't feel like playing it so I put in 7th style. Is 6th Style like the US version where you have to play them in arcade mode to unlock them?

3rd - 6th Styles are all like the US version in that respect. However, unlike the US version it is possible to unlock everything light fast by doing the following for each style:

3rd and 4th styles: Get atleast a 573 combo.
5th style: Get atleast a 634 combo.
6th Style: Play Light 7 or Normal Arcade mode and play Yesterday, A New Morning, Night of Fire. You can use continues, but you have to clear these stages in this order. If you get Extra stage, you can choose any song but you have to clear it(continues allowed). Then enter your high score name as ''2DX6'' and watch the whole ending(DO NOT SKIP THE ENDING). After the ending is done, ''COMPLETE'' should appear on the menu screen which means everything is unlocked.

I've used "Mixwaver" and "Rhythm It (not sure if I spelled this one right)" to play BM songs just like BM. It's not as quite as same, but probably should work. It's probably not worthy to talk about "Whistler" for 2 reasons: 1. It's probably disappeard from the internet. 2. It's supporting EZ2DJ the best but probably not BM.
