OMFG Multi Session!

Post by Ho » Sun Jan 31, 2010 12:35 am

This forum has been dormant for a long time, so I'm waking it up with something big!

Multi Session LIVES!

We're setting the wayback machine to 2001 to link GUITARFREAKS 6thMIX, drummania 5thMIX, and keyboardmania3rdMIX for some Multi Session action. This has been a goal of MonMotha and myself for quite awhile now. The stars aligned and it has finally come to fruition...and by golly, it's pretty darn fun!

Here's some videos of the setup:

Brian this is probably the only super session left in the world. Congratulations! You have the rarest of the rare!

Who is that sheepish young man on the right of the Vitalize video? It looks like that one guy from Kentucky... Zach? Or something.

I don't know of any other multi session (I'll use Konami's name even though everyone calls it super session) setups, but the world is a big place. I think it's at least conceivable that there is another somewhere. And if there is, I'd like to see it. :)

Even rarer might be the IIDX/DDR linkup. I'd like to see that, too. I have the machines to do it, but I don't have the software. And I'm not sure if I'd be able to run the software even if I had it. :( But that's a project for another day.

And you've got it...that's Zach. I've never really thought of him as sheepish though.

Whoa whoa whoa wasn't this forum called Super Session earlier today?

Tricky tricky. . . .

Brian there may be, huge emphasis on the may, another Multi Session set-up somewhere but I highly doubt it. If there was it would probably be in some dude's basement or in an extremely rural area of some Asian country or maybe northern Australia. I'd begin my search in the Philippines personally.

Brian get a Pop'n Stage and/or a DDR solo cabinet and complete your collection

Good eye. But Konami calls it Multi Session in the game, so I'm going with them. :)

pop'n stage would be cool. I've never even seen one in person, but it looks like a cool cab. Solo, on the other hand, is hardly rare. I've looked for one off and on over the years, but I just haven't been able to justify the cost and I really don't have the floor space for it (or pop'n stage) at this point now anyway.

Brian you just need to pull a Monmotha and buy a machine and store it at a trustworthy individual's home until you can free up space.

For the record I have about 600 sq. ft I need to fill. My living room is literally empty.

I want to play on a solo cabinet sometime before I die Brian please make this happen.

While were on the subject aren't solo cabs relatively dirt cheap? I remember back when I was a naive high schooler and the US dollar was stronger I could get a solo cab for like ~$1500 excluding shipping and shit.

Well, considering I paid $333.33 (excluding shipping) for KBM, I wouldn't call $1500 dirt cheap.

If I could get a Solo cabinet for < $500, I would probably do it. However, they still linger in the $1000 range. While I like a lot of the music in Solo, the game is just not significantly different enough from the 2-player DDR I already have (and barely play) for me to justify the cost. Besides, there is now a hack available to play Solo in a 2-player cab. I never liked 6-panel very much anyway, so just being able to play the songs is good enough for me.
