Hello, I have been into DDR for several years and am up to getting A's on Standard/Trick songs. I am a 20-something gal from Southern Indiana where I rack up full combos at my local YMCA. I'm glad to be here and look forward to making some new friends!

Oh hey, welcome to IndyDDR! We're a pretty tight-knit group of folks who all more or less met each other through DDR. We may not play DDR as much as we used to but we still enjoy each others company!

What gym in southern Indiana has a a DDR machine? That's pretty neat!

Thank you! The tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand has DDR mats out, which I use every chance I get:)

Welcome to IndyDDR. Most of us post from the Indy area, but we hail from all over the state. What home versions have you been playing?

I've been playing Extreme, Extreme 2, MAX, SuperNova, and SuperNova 2. All on a playstation 2. Sometime I am going to get a PS 2 and mats for my home and dance 24/7.

Also, I used to be on DDR Freak. My name there was Final Warning.

Welcome!

Southern Indiana? Can you go drink a Ski for me? I mean, it would be better if you could send me one to drink myself, but that seems harder.

Have you also played on an arcade machine or just the home versions?

I'll try to drink a Ski for you, Ho. The next time I have the opportunity. I've played on an arcade version a couple of times, but the Playstation 2 is my main system.

I also have a question: I guess you have to be a Light member to have an avatar and signature? There are no ways to add those in my user CP.

In one more post you'll be a light member (I think) so all you need to do is make a post!

Hmm. Good question. I don't remember making such a restriction, but I set this up so many years ago that I may have forgotten. Or it could be a default. At any rate, you'll be Light at 10 posts.

I remember the good old days when I jumped through so many hoops to make my crappy soft pad usable by taping it to wood, buying some skeezy metal pad from eBay, only to have it short out somewhere and break in a week. Once you get to harder standard and into heavy (which is actually a quicker transition than you might think), arcade is just so much easier. At least for me, because I always felt like I had to play softly and carefully on my soft pad.

Welcome by the way!

Okay, thanks a lot. Also, I was wanting to look over the rules just so I don't get in trouble here, but I couldn't find a link to them. Does that mean you don't have them here and we can say whatever we want here? :D

We have long since abandoned rules. We smashed those glasses a long time ago.

Years ago, this forum was much more active with hundreds of users and things sometimes got out of control. Now, there's really only a core half dozen or so people left that post regularly. There's not much of a need for hard rules when we all know each other anyway. Pretty much "don't be a jerk" and everything will be fine.

Okay, fine by me. I'm not a jerk to begin with and I try to cause as little trouble as possible, so we should be good to go.

I was looking into the avatar thing for you. I did find that there is a group for newly registered users that does have a restriction on setting an avatar. However, I believe that is a default group and it does not have any members in it. I can't find what criteria phpBB might use to put people in that group, so it's probably something I would have had to configure--which I didn't. Also, it doesn't seem to be linked with the ranks (beginner, light, standard, etc.).

The best I can tell, you should be able to set an avatar. Just hit the user control panel, click the profile tab, and then click edit avatar in the left pane. Does that not work?
