Nice. :)

I hope I won't have to bring out the recipes if things get ugly.

^^^

I have no idea what that means!

Thanks for posting, we enjoy fresh fish as it were since it spices things up a bit here and it gives people something to read other than my musings. So what's your favorite anime? This thread should be an anime chat thread. Where is your avatar from? Mine is Mad Chad.

I watched the last episode of The Big O over the holiday break since it was on the ol' TV and I don't know what the shit is going on in that show ever. I appreciate its animation and homage to the ol' Batman cartoons though which is its main saving grace. I've been told that I should read the manga for Beserk but I honestly don't know if I would feel comfortable reading manga. There is a line with anime I simply do not cross, the social stigma of looking like a dweeb is just too great for my coolness factor.

It's a secret. ;)

This will now be anime chat thread? Cool.

Favorite anime? Trinity Blood by far. It's not too long *coughnarutocough* and the animation's great. Studio Gonzo does good stuff. My avatar is an alternate version of Neo Queen Serenity AKA Sailor moon when she rules Crystal Tokyo in the year 3,000.

Big O is okay. I seem to have a hard time with shows that have Mech suits, but I'm also trying to keep an open mind. I at least watch a few eps first before passing judgement. I don't really have a problem reading manga (unflopped, especially) and watching anime, too. It's fun to take note of the changes that are made. Or, conversely, it can be infuriating. I.g., the Sailor Starlights of the Sailor Stars arc of Sailor Moon. Originally, they were just women whom disguised themselves as dudes, which lead to some interesting interactions with the main female cast-Like Seiya kissing Usagi/sailor Moon. In the anime, they changed them to be woman whom had actual male bodies while disguised and reverted back to female when they transformed into the S. Starlights. made the manga author mad because it messed with her idea that only women could be Sailor Soldiers.

Tl;dr: So yeah, stuff like that, drastic changes from comic to animation, is why there are usually division among some fan

Trinity Blood
I'm pretty sure my brother is in to this as well. I have no idea what it's about - could you summarize it to me in your own words?

600 years from now, the Vatican rules the Earth after Armageddon/Apocalypse, and there's vampires. Main character is a priest who's part of a special force to deal with vamps but is a Krusnik, a vamp who feeds off other vamps. Lots of political intrigue.

Did you 'live' it or did you 'love' it? I haven't seen the movie, but I'm reading your statement as "the movie accurately depicts your high school experience." And without having seen the movie, I will just assume that experience to be awesome.

I did mean loved. As far as the movie goes, it was hilarious & weird. Not sure how it is if you're a fan of the manga or anime.

In that case, how close is the movie to your high school experience. And would you have liked your high school to be closer to the movie? ;)

It was nothing like my high school experience. Actually living the weirdness of the movie... Maybe not, but watching, yes!
