Pick Me Up and Tango (I need info)

Post by the gattchoon » Thu Jun 29, 2006 1:47 pm

Hey... does anyone have an mp3 to "Pick Me Up and Tango" (by Nina) from ITG2 that they can send me? Or know where to get/download it [for free]? =P

Also, the stepchart to the song on double medium. Neither ITG Freak nor DDR Freak had it, sooo... sigh. ;_;

I'm very... frustrated. LOL. I don't have enough money to spend on ITG to memorize the steps, nor do I like choreographing freestyle routines in public.

Help me find them, please! T_T;

For some reason songs with the word "Tango" in it have been very appealing to me, and I'm getting very... I don't know the word... urged. Hahaha... "Sad Tango" by Bi(Rain) is on my MySpace page, on the show So You Think You Can Dance all the Latin, Ballroon, Tango (I think it was Allison and Ivan who did a Tango routine yesterday) are making me twitch... to make a freestyle routine.

Pick Me Up & Tango double medium = couples routine in mind. I have a guy in mind, but I neeeeeeeeeeed the stepchart and music. ~_~;

But who holds ITG FS tourneys? (no one really)

LOL.

Just for fun. I did get an idea for MegaPlay, though... since the ITG, PIU, and DDR machines are all next to each other, if I ever hold a freestyle tourney there, I'll just include all 3 machines since some people might prefer to FS to one machine rather than the other, and more people might join. Maybe. AUGH.

XD!

A multigame freestyle event sounds awesome! I'd certainly do 2-out-of-3. I'd do ITG, too, but I've never found a song/chart in ITG that worked well for the way I freestyle. However, I will admit that I haven't played that many songs on ITG. I kind of gave up in frustration after not finding a good freestyle song within a few games.

Perhaps someone who knows my style and knows ITG songs could give make a suggestion...

I personally haven't played many songs on ITG, either, since I've only played it enough times to count on one hand... the ones I know I've played are Typical Tropical, Bumble Bee (duh those two from DDR/solo haha)... Pick Me Up and Tango, Delirium, and a few more I don't remember.

But just to test FS skills... I should attempt to FS to all the ITG/ITG2 songs... or at least 90% of them. Wahahaha.

Go for it! You were really good at Megaplay.
I have the MP3, not the steps though. If you still need it.

Thanks, I finally have the mp3... but the stepchart seems hopeless... I guess Megaplay will be making a ton of money from me... or rather, my dad... since I'm so broke. ;_;

Normally I'd recommend going here, but they seem to be fresh out of Pick Me Up & Tango DM. Are you sure you wouldn't rather do Queen of Light? <ducks!>

Once I'm set on a song, I'm set. =P

But of course, I'll listen to other songs to see if they're worthwhile. ;p

I've come up with a few solutions, and ranked them in order from hardest/most hassle to easiest/most hassle-free. Lol unless you have time, I would suggest just skipping to the end of the list :wink:.

1. I don't know how hard/how many steps this song has, but I suggest getting somebody who can pass it (and hit most of the notes correctly so you know how they are) to play it a few times. Write as many, if not all, of the steps in some sort of fast-writing free-hand on a piece of notebook paper, don't worry about the distance in between them, and then after you hear the song being played a few times (especially if the guy plays flat-footed), you'll probably know the beat of the notes (at least this is what happens with me).

2. You could get ITG home version or Stepmania (if you don't already have it), and, using the mp3, make your own edit steps. This would probably make it easier for you to create your own routine as well. Of course, for first-time simfile artists, synching steps can be hard.

3. Get Stepmania (if you don't already have it), and download the ITG/ITG2 simfile pack (I don't know which one Pick Me Up & Tango is in). It will have the songs, and, if you're lucky, the medium steps. I'm not sure if it'll have official double steps, but it's worth a try. ITG1 ITG2

I don't like making edits. I've done it a couple times, and then I never got to use them, and the last edit I made for a freestyle tourney I put a lot of effort into and then got sick and never used it. XD!

Anyway, using default arrows are a lot simpler. =D

Thanks for the advice though. I usually think of moves before I put them with the arrows. So I fit the dance with the flow of the arrows. I know some steps from playing it a couple times, which gives me a few ideas.

Soo... meh. XD!
