Simfiles
Okay I know there's another topic with like the same name as this, but I thought MonMotha's homemade simfiles didn't really apply to my current dilemma, so...yeah. Well, where can I find some PIU simfiles? I wanna get good at it (without a pad lol) and the "Pump Redone" pack is all 10-footers...

Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't find the official Pump steps on that site...I want something with the REAL songs, not original simfiles. And preferably for SM, not KIU.Jason Dread wrote:www.ph-online.net

Stepmania can load KSFs (though it will royally fsck up tempo changes in many cases) at least somewhat reasonably. Due to this fact, many pump sims are distributed in KSF format rather than SM since then it can work on both. Of course, neither program is capable of fully emulating even basic pump gameplay, let alone the graphics (heck, the file formats aren't even capable of representing everything).
I have a giant set of pump sims, but I know pump haven has a huge mega bumper pack somewhere that's basically everything through Prex 3, then you'll have to go get the new stuff (much of which is either not available or incorrect after Exceed).

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

How much is saver's club $8? But I don't think I want to, because I go to way more places that just PP so I don't wanna like invest something just to get a better deal there...then again with the new dedicab coming in (when again?)... I'll think about it. Oh, and where is the huge bumper pack? And does it have Beethoven Virus (lol I love that song...)?

Saver's club is $5... let's work out the math real quick:dance1005 wrote:How much is saver's club $8? Normally:
60 tokens cost $10 (I think)
so each token costs $0.17 if you have it normally
With Saver's club:
100 tokens cost $10 (on weekdays)
so each token costs $0.10
ok now let's figure this out..
the total amount of money spent with respect to the amount of tokens you use is
Normal = 0.17 * x
where x = the number of tokens you use
if you have saver's club there is a one time $5 fee for 6 months.. let's take a look at that equation now:
Savers = 5.00 + 0.10 * x
so let's figure out how many tokens (x= number of tokens used) you would have to spend to equal what a normal price is. we set Savers = Normal and have the equation:
0.17x = 5.00 + 0.10x which simplifies to
0.07x = 5.00 and further simplifies to
x ~= 72
Therefore to make saver's club a profitable investment.. you would have to use more than 72 tokens. With one purchase of Saver's club you get 100 so therefore if you even just buy the 100 on a weekday, you will be getting more than a deal there. (and it's not like the tokens expire or anything).
Now let's see what 72 tokens is in ITG/PIU terms.
ITG at PP is 3 tokens
PIU at PP is 4 tokens
Average game of ITG is about 7 minutes including time waiting for screens to pass.
I will just say PIU is the same.
so 72 tokens will get you 24 games of ITG or 18 games of PIU. That will equate to:
168 minutes of ITG (2.8 hours) OR
126 minutes of PIU (2.1 hours)
Now let's assume that you spend an hour at the arcade and nobody else is there... that will take you three days max to match it.
Now let's look at this one more way. let's say you go to the arcade twice a week for 3 hours at a time each. Obviously it will be busy sometimes. Let's say you cycle between ITG and PIU through the night. Average waiting time between games is 8 minutes (just for argument).
so what you will have is 15 minutes allotted to ITG waiting/playing and 15 minutes alloted to PIU waiting/playing.
through 3 hours (180 minutes) you will have 12 plays, 6 being ITG and 6 being PIU. so in tokens that will be 18 for ITG and 24 for PIU. so you use a total of 42 in one night.
Now since you are going twice a week, you will spend 84 in one week.
saver's club lasts for 6 months. so you would have matched the price you would have paid in that first week.
so let's extrapolate. Let's say that you keep on doing the twice a week thing for 4 out of the 6 months. that means you have 16 weeks there and you would use a total of 1344 tokens.
using the equations from earlier, we can calculate:
1344 tokens would normally cost: $227.48
while on saver's club:
1344 tokens would cost: $139.40 (including the $5 joining fee)
That saves you a total of $88.08. Is that really a bad deal? you get your money back as soon as you buy your first 100 tokens.

EDIT: yikes that's a long post.
