MGS1 was originally released for the PS1. Does the Metal Gear Solid Essentials version have updated graphics or any extra features?

AFAIK it's still the PS1 version. Nothing extra.

Welcome back, Joe. I have made a lot of posts and we have missed you.

I would totally be interested in the MGS collection but apparently MGS1 is literally on PS1 CD-ROM discs and you need a PS1 memory card to save your game.

So, alas, no dice my friend.

For $30 I will ship it to you and throw in a PS1 memory card. You'll be able to use that card for DDR arcade edits too wink wink.

I would take you up on your offer but Chad has Supernova installed on his DDR cabinet and I don't recall it having memory slots but I could be wrong.

Did Supernova even use the memory card slots at all or was everything on e-amuse?

Yeah I am pretty sure Extreme is the last release with memory card support. You'd have to ask an expert like Brian or Brandon.

Brandon's cabinet does have memory card slots.

Wikipedia says:
This feature is supported in 2ndMix through Extreme. It was expected that SuperNova would include memory card support. However, the division of Sony which handled the production of the memory card slots shut down, causing Konami to pull memory card support out at the last minute.
Wikipedia has never been wrong, ever.
