Katamari Damacy

Post by MSGAddict » Sat May 28, 2005 7:50 pm

Has anyone heard of the awsome Namco game called Katamari Damacy?? I got it a few months ago at best buy for $20, and I think that's the best 20 bucks I've ever spent...
...I beat it 8 days after I bought it...
...It is easy to beat but awsomely fun to play even after you have beaten it.

The concept is like this:
You are the Prince of the Cosmos (Look at my avatar) and you roll around your "Katamari" (a giant sticky ball that picks up everything smaller than itself at the time it hits it) and you try to reach the size goal within the time limit. When time runs out, you better have your Katamari the right size or else you dad (the King of the Cosmos) will get very angry...
...Check it out if you haven't already.

I'll go out on a limb here and call it one of the best games released in the past 10 years. It's so simple, but so immensely fun as well. Having an incredible soundtrack doesn't hurt either. *bounces around to A Crimson Rose and a Gin Tonic*

Sequel comes out next month I think. Am I right? This game is so awesome. Even though I finished it in like, 2 days, lol. I still can't get any good sized bears or cows for those constellations...I always get my ball up to a pretty large size and then some fucker will walk into it and I'll end up with a small size animal. I want to stab them.

Yeah...
...the sequel is called We Love Katamari. It is previewed on the IGN site here: http://ps2.ign.com/objects/716/716651.html?ui=cb_up_04

This one will be fun with the new Co-op. play.

By the way...
...I heard that this game is going to come out for Nintendo DS. It isn't out yet but is really anticipated. With the DS you can play with two Katamaris rolling around the level at once (one on the first DS the other on the second DS).

...YES!

Odd that it should come out on Nintendo DS when it was made for PS2.

And pretty lame as well. -.-
No more eggs! :D
An actual signature will come soon, I suppose.

Well, Time magazine did an article on the creator of Katamari Damacy. The creator didn't sound normal at all...
...He doesn't own any gaming consoles and won't play video games "unless if it feeds him."

Therefore, don't expect anything but oddities from this game and its creator.

I think the creator enjoys LSD and the magic mushrooms also.

Yeah, that's an obvious one...
...Expecially in the intro to the game: Spinning Shrooms, Pot leaves spinning in the air, ect.
Oh yeah and the multiplayer planet is a huge shroom...
..heh heh

You might be interested to know that at E3 this year there was a life size Katamari.
Attendies were allowed to put one thing on the Katamari.

Link doesn't work. I'd put myself on the Katamari.
