Final Fantasy XI

There's an old thread on this somewhere in this forum, unless it's been deleted.
I quit because there's nothing to do at 75. I mean...you go camp HNMs and have huge drama for the rest of the day over who stole what, but in the end the japanese LSs usually claim Nidhogg/KB/etc. first. The only other thing to do is start a new job.
I started playing WoW after I quit, and I like it if only for the SPEED. FFXI seems really damn slow when you play WoW. It's nice for an action to start when you hit the macro, instead of a second after.

But in reality, it's hard to make a game that doesn't get boring after a while. There is only so much they can program into a game. It would be great if they could do everything so it wouldn't get boring, but I doubt computer will be able to handle anything that large scale for at least 5 years... and by that time I won't be playing computer games... as much...Riot wrote:Yeah that's what I liked about it too, but ultimately the end game falls victim to what plagues all the other MMO's.... Lack of stuff to do. Atleast in WoW PVP is more important and actually pretty fun.

Oh I know. The trick is pulling off an endgame that is infinite because it relies on the player not on the content. Like Ultima Online let you build houses and it was more about roleplaying and community, because there was not much focus on getting 1337 items. I'm excited for Dark and Light, I think it'll be good. The world itself is sooooo big. It's 42x as big as WoW's world, and it's like 2 times the state of New Jersey lol. Everyone will be on one server and you can build kingdoms and cities and stuff and have wars to conquer other kingdoms. Plus you can fly free on dragons and hangliders and stuff, so I'm excited for some aerial raids lol.
yeah. on Ifrit, a stack of silk is goin for 70k....lmfaoRiot wrote:I considered starting again, but it'd be hard. If I did I'd pick back up my 56 DRK or whatever level he was, but he has no items or money. Hard game to get back into since everything is so party oriented and money dependent.
