Deathsmiles

Post by Amp Divorax » Tue Jun 29, 2010 8:28 pm

A year ago nobody expected a Cave shmup to receive a domestic release, but thanks to Aksys Games, Deathsmiles made it to US shores. Some quick notes on this release:

- $50 for the Limited Edition (Oddly enough, it has everything that the $130 Japanese LE had, and also comes with an exclusive faceplate.)
- Mega Black Label was DLC in Japan, but is on the disc for the US! (For those not familar, that is the hardest incarnation of the game.)
- This may be Cave's first side scrolling shmup, but holy crap it gets really hard.

Definitely a good buy for shmup fans.

I got this for Christmas. Definately a bastard to play. Demon cow is always a fun boss to take on.

Indeed it is. Something I forgot to mention is that they screwed up on this release and don't have the slowdowns like in the arcade. A patch has been confirmed which should happen soon hopefully.
