Mushihimesama Futari for Xbox 360: November 26, 2009

Post by Amp Divorax » Sun Sep 27, 2009 3:14 pm

I've mentioned the first game before, but the sequel is even more insane. Pretty much the 360 version on disc is going to be based off of Arcade Version 1.5 and 1.01 will be available via download.

Oh, many people may remember me hating on 360 Japanese developers for senselessly region locking their games that don't get an international release. Well, due to the massive amount of fan response Cave confirmed at TGS that the game will be region free.

It's not just a shmup, it's widely considered to be the hardest shmup series made hands down and it's region free release means that now the world can experience it!

I don't understand the point of region locking games (PS3 doesn't for any game afaik, which is cool) at least they did the right [smart] thing and left this one open.

I can understand region locking a game that gets a worldwide release to fight reverse importing, but games that get a single region release should not be locked.

Oh, according to the wikipedia entry, Black Label mode is in this release! (To give people an idea, there are only 150 Black Label PCBs in existance.) This game is now a must get for me.

A word of warning, you may want to set the frame delay on the game to PCB as the default mode does not handle slowdowns like the arcade does.
