Mario Kart Wii
Is anyone getting this game?
I feel like I should get it, but the commercial made it look so incredibly ghey that it gave me a bad association with it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_HOMVConcM <-- There's all three commercials if you haven't endured them.
With GTA coming out soon this one seems like.... ehh.
I guess I just don't care about this one. It looks like they took a working formula and put in some iffy "features". What do you guys think of it?
EDIT: I'm going to post your guys's codes up here just for fun.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
As with Brawl, you can choose to use an GC controller or the nunchuck instead of tilt sensing.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
DOUBLE POST: OMFG...Look at these fucking peppers....
But seriously, this version of Mario Kart has already surpassed the great game of Mario Kart DS, DD, and 64 and I have only finished one circuit, it is A LOT of fun, especially with the wheel

Ok, I tried the wheel at Worst Try and the response time didn't cut it for me so I'm sticking with a gamecube controller.

I may have OCD, but it's better than being butthurt all the time like you! (LOL, J/K!)lgolem wrote:but this is coming from the most anal person on here >_>Amp Divorax wrote:Ok, I tried the wheel at Worst Try and the response time didn't cut it for me so I'm sticking with a gamecube controller.

The average difference in time that I (along with everybody else who has played it) got when comparing it to the GC controller was 3 seconds on our lap times which is too substansial for it's own good. The Wheel (Along with the Wii Zapper and Nerf Tennis Racket) also defeats the whole Muppet Babies approach of imagining that the Wiimote is a Tennis Racket, Baseball Bat, Bowling Ball, and Big Fucking Gun (Metroid Prime 3 FTW) that made it feel inventive to me.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Yeah, I bought this about a week ago.
The huge strength for the wheel is that it works well, and it's quite simple for people who can't play video games to pick up and play. My dad, who can't play Mario Kart DD for the life of him, could probably pick it up and be racing quite easily/quickly. I'd say that if you buy Mario Kart, at least play through a few grand prix with the wheel before you make your judgement.
I've gotten about 20 hours of playtime in over the past week, and out of all the controllers like the nunchuck/wiimote combo by far. It's quite comfy and gives you all of the controls you need. I've played Mario Kart DD for an innumerable amount of hours over the past few years, but after playing with the nunchuck I think it's time to retire the GC controller from my Mario Kart arsenal.
And yes, those commercials are quite terrible. I realize we're not the target demographic for those commercials, but I really have trouble seeing any target demographic liking those commercials.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Hey look edit to the first post of the thread.
I ended up preordering GTA IV last night... so I probably won't be getting this for a while.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
I bought it yesterday without even looking at a review or seeing a single commercial (thank goodness on the latter!). It's great fun and I'm totally satisfied.
