So Uh, who else here bowls?

Because I rocked out a nice 657 (236 210 211) tonight with a sprained left arm/shoulder.

Oh, since i'm one of those Illinois assholes I tend to bowl around where I live, but I like to go to other places and bowl just to test out the waters.

Moved to other games entirely, since this is a game.
A normality test:

If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Bowling's a sport, kthx.

I bowl, Erica does or at least used to. However, both of us live on the west side of the country now.

I ended my last season/league with about a 190 average, but I've been doing really poorly this fall due to a huge lack of practice during the summer.

Congrats on your first 650+ series.

Bowl? Yes. Enjoy? Yes. Skilled? Not so much.

I usually at least get past 100. I think my best ever was maybe in the 170 range, but that was pretty exceptional. I'm usually more of a 100-120.

I'd probably be a little better if I bowled more consistently, but 2-3 times per year seems to be about as often as I end up there. I do at least own my own shoes though.

Come visit, Shane. We will topple pins and stomp arrows!

Eh, it's not my first 650+ series, but thanks. My first 650+ was 662 where I took down another team basically by myself. I've only been hitting more 600 series lately because I a) bowled sport over the summer and b) decided throwing a reactive wasn't worth the trouble in a non-sport condition...since I generate enough revolutions without palming the ball.

Ho, I think it's a plan. I gotta take more time off and not hurt myself.

Marching band is the only true sport. :)

Truth.

The best I ever bowled was like 190, but usually I am in the 130 range, so I'm not good

I use reactive on non-sport. T-Road Pearl is my main ball and Ebonite Maxim for my straight. I have an X-Factor Reloaded for days where the oil is ridiculous.

Although I bowl significantly better on sport shots. And being a lefty is always nice for adjustments, or lack thereof.

And I need new shoes. My slide pads aren't replaceable and I keep sticking really bad.

I think I once bowled a 170. Normally I'm just a typical newb. I think it is more fun on the Wii anyway.

That's the same for me so I'll just quote instead of repeat.

I used to be in a league years back, but ironically enough, my best game came last year at my brother's birthday party.

220, son.

I did the league thing once. Simply being in a league does not translate to any better performance...at least that was my experience. :P

Being in a league doesn't usually mean you improve at bowling, it usually means you improve at drinking.

SoDeep: I really tried throwing reactive on house shots, I really did. I eventually just started being able to generate enough revs that a white dot had the movement and power I needed to really nail shots.

I should grab a good video of me bowling sometime soon and put it up to youtube.
