I openly welcome your attempt to save face and talk about how much Blue Dragon is a better game.
Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles were some of the best RPGs on this gen of consoles (besides Lost Odyssey, and they both came out a long time ago). I will never say Blue Dragon was a better game than Xenoblade, much less most other games I listed. I don't know why you think I love that game lol. Simply playing something and enjoying parts of it doesn't constitute me as thinking it's the best game ever. I play games for fun battle systems with customizable character/gameplay systems. I played that game because I like the job system. In fact, the thing I look for in most RPGs is a fun battle system and gameplay style, and everything else beyond that is icing on the cake. I played more RPGs than the ones I listed, and they weren't particularly memorable, but I don't regret playing them. I really like experiencing and knowing a little about every game and enjoying the good parts of the game instead of griping about the bad parts. If you only look for the bad in every aspect of life, you become bitter... oh wait! I'm sure Xenoblade is awesome and I can't wait to play it, but I also think a lot of the Wii fanbase is rabid for an actual good RPG since they basically had none and went boners for this.

And that sounds interesting Chadmang. I've heard of that game, but it might just be the original one I saw you playing on N64. If anything I'd like to mod my Wii to play stuff, but I don't know how even though I'm sure it's not hard. Just not that motivated to make it happen.

I found it at Kmart new for $15 and No More Heroes 2 for $12. If I can squeeze 100 hours of fun out of my Wii, I'd say it was a worthwhile investment.

We need to play Walk It Out together. :)

In other news, I'm on track to squeeze 100 hours out on a single game. I just passed the 70 hour mark on Catherine.

2nd ending? I just got endings 6, 7, and 8 this morning. :)

That's all the endings. You can actually get them all in 3 playthroughs based on your alignment of Law, Chaos, or Neutral. The neutral playthrough has only one ending. You can get 3 each following Law or Chaos with only having to replay the last 4 levels. And then there is one ending that you can get in either Law or Chaos.

It took me 4 playthroughs because my first playthrough was without any guides and I didn't manage my saves in such a way as to milk it for all its possible endings. And the 4th playthrough didn't involve that much play because I had gotten the Gold Prize on all the levels by then which allows you to just skip playing them. Then you just have to answer all the questions at each stage to determine your alignment and ending path.

These were done on Easy and Normal modes. I'm decent at them now with lots of practice (though the later levels still give me difficulty) But to give you an idea of how hard these are, a Very Easy mode was added to the North American release because so many people complained that the game was too difficult. Also, I started Hard and it took me about a dozen attempts over the course of 20+ minutes just to get past the very first level that I can do on Easy or Normal in under a minute now.

But even if I don't take on the challenge of Hard, there's still a 2-player Colosseum mode on all the original stages, 5 levels of Babel (the first of which I still have yet to pass after many attempts), and 128 levels of Rapunzel, the game inside the game (it's an arcade machine in the bar that you can play that has the same mechanics as the main game with 8-bit style graphics). And I haven't timed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a good hour of cutscenes that make up the story of the game.

So yeah...this game is huge. If you enjoy it (and I do), there's a lot to keep you busy for a good long time. I've certainly gotten my $40 worth out of it.

Of course none of that has anything to do with Wii, so I'll try to offer some real on-topic input here (though I'm not sure why you added to this thread rather than just starting a new one...but whatever):

I have to admit that I have maybe turned on my Wii like twice this year...and once was to play a GameCube game. So I definitely understand the nature of your initial inquiry about what there is to do on the system.

Personally, other than Wii Sports, I remember playing Mario Kart the most. It was definitely fun in a group. Some people complained about the controls and demanded a GameCube controller, but I rather enjoyed using the silly plastic wheel.

I got the Tetris game that I played a bunch in Ottumwa, but I think I have only played it twice since then. It's a good game, but I just don't ever get to it since the Xbox has become my go-to entertainment device at home (yes, MUCH more than any of my arcade machines).

I recently (in the last 6 months or so) got Super Mario Wii after hearing good things about it. I don't think I've even opened it though.

I am serious about Walk It Out though. We should play this.

As a connoisseur of Mario Kart, I must say that Double Dash (the GameCube version) has so far been the pinnacle of the series. The Wii version just feels off.

The only game I ever play on my Wii is Smash Bros. My ladyfriend also enjoys Zelda.
