[edit] Cabinet Specs
The Arcade Cabinet consists of two screens, a bottom 22-inch touch screen where the game is played, and a upper 32-inch screen for spectators to view, both in Hi-Definition. There is a vibrating stage and game based lights and speakers. There is a ID-Card Reader for people who have a Platinum Crew ID Card.

[edit] Gameplay
The game offers 4 gameplay types:
Lite Mixing-1 song is played

Popular Mixing-3 songs are played

Technical Mixing-a course of 4 songs are played with the songs selected by the player from a list that differs depending on the course choosen

Platnium Mixing-only available to people who have a Platinum Crew ID Card. Not much is known about it except it will have songs exclusive to this mode and will be online.

The player has 30 seconds to pick a song. If the timer hits zero, the song currently highlighted will be chosen.
The player must touch the notes as the time line crosses them. If they fail to touch them after the time line passes them, it counts as a break, which means the combo is reset to zero and the player loses HP, which is also recovered when notes are hit. When the HP hits zero, it's game over
Note Types:
Basic- only need to touch note once when time line is on them

Drag Line- drag ircular note along the path while keeping it on the time line

Connect- hit all notes in the path when time line is on them

Holding Long- Hold finger on the circular note until the time line passes the blue line at the end of the note

Repeat- keep pressing the circular note each time the time line is on a little blue line that is part of this note.

[edit] Platinum Crew
Pentavision has released ID Cards in different packages that allows access to Platinum Mixing mode. Players will be able to access personal information management online regional rankings, buy items for their accounts and play other DJ Max Players. There will also be events for Platinum Crew members.[1]

It's really different than original DJ MAX and DJ MAX Portables. It's more like Elite Beat Agents with bigger screen. Youtube has actual play videos.

I think this actually looks better than Ubeat.

Good to know somebody other than me thought this concept would make a good arcade game.
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Think elite beat agents, but on a big arcade screen and using your fingers.

It looks like a lot of fun but something to get very used to, as we English-speaking folk generally read left to right always, so that second line going right to left is awkward for me at least. After the first row my eyes naturally drift to the left on the 2nd row.

Did you play Elite Beat Agents? It certainly didn't limit itself to any particular direction.

DJ MAX Technika doesn't function quite the same way. EBA is more like UBeat.

Certainly...but my point was that it doesn't read in a straight line in any particular direction.

Well I guess it's just that line that sweeps across the screen from left to right and then right to left on the bottom. I guess I just naturally expect it to go left to right on the bottom as well, as that's where my eye goes. Yeah I've played Elite Beat Agents, but I feel like it's a little different I guess. I dunno, not like I'll probably ever get to play this game anyways it probably won't ever make it out of Korea =(

You might consider going to Korea sometime for meaningful "discovery/expedition"......of music games :D
