actually its 6 keys + the middle button making 7. also you'll rack up 20k in gems quite fast and not even realize it. Also, you'll learn that 4x is needed on the harder songs (jus like in beatmania more speed is needed), and will get used to it. I use 4x alot now.sam wrote:yeah, it's alright...it's basically playing 5 key beatmania on a keyboard and moving the keys to one row and moving the turntable to space. it's actually a lot easier then beatmania because rather then seemingly random notes most every song in o2jam is scaling. also all the freakin malaysians play at 4x or 6x so you can't really miss...just mash a whole bunch and you pass.
that's my only real gripe about this game, you have people that memorize 3 songs and play them on HX4 HX6 who turn around and call people noobs because they can't play a song from memory. it's kinda silly that a lowly level 12 is destroying level 35-60 players just fine when played on sane settings.
the avatars are pretty retarded, you get around 100 gems on average per song. a decent article of clothing is 20k gems...i'm not a coke fiend so i will not be playing long enough to even HAVE 20k in gems.
haven't unlocked extra songs yet, you get quite a lot if you download the torrent song pack.

Yeah, either through the ingame p2p(which takes shitloads of time) or downloading torrent/hosted songs, you can get a ton without paying anything.CaseyDidder wrote:i haven't payed in over 2 years and i have a shit load.
There's only a few that are pay songs, and you can live without them.
I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.

There hasn't been much activity on here recently about this game, but I got into it a month or two ago and am at lvl 19 currently. My primary game is IIDX though so this game is more secondary than anything. It's not too bad of a game overall, but the songs accessible on the free version are not as good as on the nonfree version.

You can download all the songs and play them on O2Mania (an offline, stepmania-like program for O2Jam). Hope you can read Malaysian though, it'll take a bit to get used to (unless they changed it recently). I don't play it much anymore, mostly because of the other players. The kids in Malaysia play 8x and I don't get points from playing alone.
Yea, I'm like Mother Teresa, except I pwn.
That too. I, being a guy and having a male avatar, do not have to worry about that one.
They also are in love with a handful of songs (V3, Brahms, Sonata, and all the Christmas songs). *Sigh* I've seen few people play a variety of songs larger than that.
