Sadly, you probably don't even want it. The cabinet is pretty beat up, and if the SN2 hardware doesn't work, it can be quite a pain to resurrect. I have no idea what condition the stage is in. Last time I played on it (years ago), it was sensitive enough but had problems with sticking.

It depends on the price really. If they want 10k for it like they usually do, then I'm better off buying a white cab. If they're like "hey, just take it we don't want it" then it might be worth saving.

Maybe I should just cave in and buy a couple Precision pads. Or try to get the Infinity at Latitude 360 if they foreclose.

They responded to the email. I sent them one asking if there would be a sale and telling them that there's interest in the. SN2. I even mentioned that the maintenance is kinda poor throughout the place.

All I got back was "Sorry no sale this year".

Guess they love having visibly broken machines. Makes me wonder how much of it is just tech-related and how much is management or corporate related.

I don't harbor any ill will toward them, but I'm honestly surprised they've stayed in business this long.

The mall could be paying them.

Why would they do that? The mall wants to get paid by them to lease the space.

If I had to guess, Tilt probably got a sweet deal taking over from GameWorks. They obviously didn't have to pay to build out or develop the space or get all equipment. They may also have been able to take over GameWorks' lease that may have had favorable terms. I haven't been there in a couple years, but it seems like their investment in the business has been quite minimal (few new games, bare minimum maintenance, etc.). So maybe they make just enough to keep going.

This sadly is the same point of view that I have as I actually enjoyed going to some of the events that Tilt has hosted there in the past. I believe Yeehaw McKickass put it best when he said that for a storefront, the arcade games should be available as a part of the business, but not the main part of the business as they won't help you turn much of any profit at most places now.

That didn't work out so well for Latitude 360. Although there were numerous other factors at play (too close to D&B, hidden from the road, everything was expensive, too much stuff...).

Anyway I did the impossible today:

Had to stomp to get this.

NX is now the only "playable" machine. It still needs massive work on the pads. SN2 is still down (shocker!) and Exceed's all about that bass (no treble). Exceed has been having issues with the marquee speakers ever since they got it (audio cutting out occasionally) so this isn't surprising.

Thanks.

The only reasons I go here are because it's a quick bike ride from IUPUI and there's pretty much nowhere else.

I mean, there's some other locations that apparently have machines, but they're all old Pump machines so they're probably not in much better condition. Also Pinheads has ITG according to ZIv, but why would I go there if it's listed as bad, Laser Flash has a good one already, and it might not even be there anymore?

NX seemed slightly better today.

Exceed's marquee speakers were working again today. P2 side is near perfect IMO (you all probably could find something wrong with it though). P1 side is unplayable; you can't even start the game because the center panel doesn't work.

Went here and used up the last of my credits. Not sure when I'll go back again.

SN2 is still down (of course). NX P2 side feels very nice now (still pad misses, but I was still able to get A's). Exceed P2 side was great; I was even able to get the triple notes on Don't Bother Me Crazy. Marquee sound was pretty much dead, but I was able to use the bass instead and got the best scores I ever have at Tilt, nearly matching my scores at Latitude 360.

Didn't try the P1 side of either machine, but I think it's safe to assume both work.

Which makes me want to go there more for this gathering even though it may probably end with all of us just going to Tapper's afterwards. (Probably for the best since I owe some of you beer for doubting that it would open.)
