Repairs have been performed on the P1 side of the Stepmania cabinet. I will be testing the pads tonight to see if they are up to snuff. If they are then we have an official Stepmania cabinet at DBH!

Chad and I are going to be moving my Extreme into the house tonight and we'll move some games around to make room for it. I'm hoping to have the machine ready to go this week.
By the way I'm moving back in with Chad, I'll officially be in come February.

Will that make 3 DDR machines in the house? Where are you going to put it?

Re: Da Butt Hut, Brownsburg, Indianapolis
Yup, three DDRs in one house! I want to say that that is a record but I'm sure there's someone out there who has us beat.
Chad and I played around with some ideas as to where to put it, no matter what there's going to be some pathway in the house that gets obfuscated unless we totally redo the dining area layout which I don't think we're going to want to do since the dining area is the de facto "guest hang-out" area. As far as I see it we have two options:
1) Move Taiko out of the kitchen and replace it with Extreme for now - this will block off the back door to the deck and grill and maybe movement from the kitchen to the rest of the house difficult. Move Taiko to where Neo Geo is and move Neo Geo upstairs or to where the beer refrigerator is now near the door to the deck.
2) Put all three DDRs in the living room (there is a way to make this work) however you will have the pads on Extreme be more or less flush with the wall that makes up the stairwell / bathroom. The big problem here is that guests will have to wait until Extreme is clear before going to and from the upstairs unless they want to crawl under the monitor while people are playing.
We COULD make it so that the pads on Extreme are super close to the cabinet which will give us maybe 2-3 feet of space to work with and solve a lot of problems however Chad's thoughts are that DDR is unplayable if the pads are super close and that if we're going to put Extreme in then we're going to do it right. There are definitely problems with all set-ups, putting Taiko in the living room will cause problems with DDR players since Taiko is loud as fuck and it will make serious DDR play difficult when guests are over. Of course, when it's just Chad and I at home then there's no problem, but if someone comes over at a gathering and wants to play for score then Taiko will make that difficult.
We could just say "fuck it" and move the dining area upstairs so we have a lot more room to maneuver with the arcade cabinets. I feel like we'll have to put in some sort of rest / chill area downstairs since the dining area is really the only place with seating and guests sure as shit love to sit.

The long and short of it is that we're running out of space and we need to either start putting shit upstairs or stop parking in the garage like a bunch of hoarder crack-addicts.

I like option 1. The door to the outside will still open, and that's what matters.

mmk, what about Taiko? Are we just going to say "Deal with it" then? I suppose people would have the option to play for keepsies on Extreme

Taiko between USA and SN. NeoGeo moved elsewhere. Speakers will likely move. Fridge will likely move. Women will likely run screaming.Merk wrote:mmk, what about Taiko? Are we just going to say "Deal with it" then? I suppose people would have the option to play for keepsies on Extreme
