I'm a little slow on the news, but still... damn. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was nearly at capacity. There were lines for just about every game. I thought AI would be able to stand firm against the ceaselessly waining arcade scene.

Wow that is actually pretty bullshit. I was always under the impression that that place had a pretty steady stream of business from loyal fighting/bemani players and randoms. Man if this place can't make it in California then that's a pretty grim outlook for stand alone arcades in the rest of the country.
Chad you are literally a curse to these popular arcades. They seem to shut down a few months right after you visit them for the first time. I'm very jealous though, you got to see AI and TGA before they went the way of the dodo.
I'd love to make a trip out there before they close mid January but sadly that's too close and the logistics of it would need a lot more planning.
Sighhhhhhh

Hey Chad that reminds me the next time we make a trip up to Chicago we need to go here.

It's something like $15 for all-you-can-play. That's gangsta.

I went up there last week and lemme tell you that it's a pretty good place. I do feel like they desperately need some shmups like Gradius, Raiden, or if they wanted to go all out even something by Cave.
Also, it was announced that Arcade Infinity is staying open on Bemanistyle. Hopefully, people will give it more business cause this was too much of a close call.

Now it's closing again...
I'm confused now... wait, no I'm not because it's California.

Arcade Infinity is literally trolling us at this point. Holy lol at those arcade prices - $6,000 for one Initial D cabinet? Yeah no thanks.

Indeed this is a very unfortunate development. At Galloping Ghost Arcade they were showing footage from the most recent SF4 tournament held at A.I. (Galloping Ghost regularly shows tournament footage from what I saw) and it felt kind of weird watching it given the news of their impending closure.

RIP in peace, Arcade Infinity. You were pretty cool back in the day when all this music game shit was super obscure!
