X-Site no longer has PIU

Post by MonMotha » Sat Oct 31, 2009 11:35 pm

X-Site in Castleton no longer has Pump It Up or any dance/music games. PIU has been replaced by a F&F racer apparently as of Monday.

If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Looks like all their business went to Dave ampersand Busters across the street to play PIU: Pro

Context: Last time I went, the machine was in awful shape. I'm really not surprised. I know many of you have history there, but it was never my arcade of choice.

The last time I played it, it played fine, but the monitor was as misadjusted as always (had been ever since they "serviced" it a year or so ago), and the artificial fog was condensing on the inside of the front plexiglass. It was generally at least loud, and the stage always worked pretty well. They had even managed to get the bars pretty sturdy. It was also the last remaining GX style cabinet in the Indy area, and I'm not a big fan of the FX.

But yes, there were definitely a lot of memories from that place. Maybe they'll get something back. There's been a dance game at X-Site for years disregarding a few weeks downtime here and there.

Speaking of memories... I just organized all my digital photos dating back to '03, and came across quite a lot of old X-Site pics. I think I need to upload them to Facebook... Hopefully the uploader will work for me :/
